I'm torn bcuz i've always wanted to go to a place where i'm seen as just another person or just another man, instead of just another n igga. i think that it would be great to get in touch wit my ancsestry. but, then when you look back and think about it, these are the decendants of the people that sold my fore fathers and mothers to the white ppl. I feel i need to get back in touch with that black pride, brotherhood feeling with my real brothers in the hood.

Why would I want to visit a country/continent that **** more than the one I'm already in? I'd rather go to Iceland or Sweeden. Maybe back to Italy or Greece. Damn those were nice places.

this is true.......but their are also certain overlooked values to tke into consideration. but to want to see/se these, i guess you would have to have some interest in african or black culture....for example...the first night i was there, the people just had a random drum circle down the street like 2 blocks from the house....everyone was in a circle and people came up one by one danceing and so one.....but in that moment, you could feel a richness of culture in a tradition that has been around and caried on since before colonialization. or just being in a place that isnt based on western values and the western thought process is a unique experience...i guess you could get that in alot of countries.....and only black people...its not something you can explain, but when you are there its easy to overlook somethings in lue of the whole experience. i guess the same could be said about hbcus..in a small way though
