We all know hazing is "Illegal" (riiiiiight)... but still occurs anyway regardless of how watchful the eye is on big brother and whatever guidelines they have. However, every once in a while the the opportunity presents itself to some folk to go paper. Some do... some choose to work for theirs. I just want to here from those in any GLO, their feelings about the whole going paper scenario. Right now i'm semi-neutral because now that i'm on the other side I understand the whole not wanting to jeopardize getting your chapter kicked off the yard over somebody who complains plus the fact that this past semester was far from fun and i'm really not the type to want to pass that on to somebody else, however, i still feel people should work for their letters in some kind of way, feel me? What do you think?
I'm really not one to assume, but I take it you signed the dotted line? Don't get me wrong, if you did thats all cool, but why are you questioning the bond between sandz, because essentially that what it is. The bonding experience between LB's/LS's. Anyways,.........**** beating? Who does that? Glazing is wrong, everybody knows that.
As for question two, the whole “paper” thing goes away, well it depends on the mindset of the people around you, it’s mighty hard to sit around with your LB’s/LS’s and talk about your “intake experience” when u aint really have one..
So you're saying that if you didn't get your **** beat, then you didn't have an experience? Please explain this for me, maybe I am misinterpreting
Yeah you are misinterpreting.... a lot, but it's cool. It really has nothing to do with being abused/ getting beat as you put it in your previous post. What I was talking about those moments that you have while one was on line for instance talking with your LB's/LS's about that time when the line had to sing the hymn while walking around like chickens (*not realistic but hell I just woke up so that’s what ya get...)

LOL! I have always been under the impression that "pledging" meant getting your **** beat and that if you didn't "pledge" you were paper or you weren't made! Yeah it's wrong but it still happens right? I'm not going to go in-depth about my process cause that's only for me and my LS's to discuss. But no we did not just simply sign on the dotted line. Surely it aint that easy! LOL! Anyone who tells you that you only have to sign on the dotted line to be a member of an org, especially a BGLO, either is not greek or is just making things up and basically don't know what they're talking about. Obviously people have different perceptions about the definition of paper.

LOL! Don't bring back any memories for me! *sniff sniff* Okay then my apologies. I just remember getting into it with a member of another org and she was hellbent on the notion that if you don't come out with severe battlemarks/spend a couple days in the hospital, then you are not one with them. These were females. To each it's own! LOL! My apologies for misinterpreting. 8)
I have heard of " paper "....but I dont completely understand how it works. Can someone explain to me how the paper process works???
Its kind of self explanatory .. U sign a piece of paper and get a number but no line name .. Why? .. Line names derive from ur personality while ur "online" .. And being that they were never online .. Their bigs never got a chance to see their personality so therefore they get no name .. they get a number simply because ur number goes according to ur height .. They dont perform in the probate .. Because while "online" u compose ur probate and they were never "online" so no probate .. The only people Ive known to go paper are legacys (People whose mother was apart of the organization the daughter is trying to pledge) .. They dont wanna go through with the hardwork so they sign their way in ..
Anyone apart of a sorority or fraternity feel free to add .. subtract .. clarify .. or correct me if Im wrong
I don't know where you are getting your info from but you are severely misinformed. Unless you have been through an actual process how can you comment on it? I don't mean any harm to you personally but it irks me when non-greeks do this: "I heard this" and "Well basically this is how it goes if u are greek" that. I feel safe in speaking for ALL BGLOs (and I know members of ALL who can vouch for this) that simply signing a piece of paper and being on your merry way is not an option, regardless of if its grad or undergrad. Like I said, I will not get into my own personal process cause that's only for my LS's and I to discuss. Let's just say the legacies on my line went through the same thing I did  it's about bonding and becoming one with your line.
The only paper folk that i know are legacies... so i'm saying no, but there probably are exceptions (ie: if you have the money). Some frats at PWI's really do have an intake process but when it comes to BGLOs i really suggest opting to work for it, you'll be grateful for it later because the process is one in which you should grow in. You find out what your strengths and weaknesses are and you will be challenged to overcome the latter. Plus, your LBs really do become u're brothers during the process.
As for what Choklatpoet, you were right for the most part, however, they get to probate (in the AUC atleast). Usually when the paper situation comes up down here its the majority of the line that is paper outside of a few.
Also, thanks Iota for clarifying the working for letters thing, I was throwing that around loosley but I can see how some folk who are interest and outside can get it twisted.
I would also like to add that if i had a brother that was paper, but has a genuine love for the fraternity and his brothers, and is an asset then he's alright with me. Regardless if he's paper or not he's still a brother? Anybody other greek share the same sentiment? just curious.
You speak as if you belong to a Greek org. Are you Greek? There is a reason I am asking you this

Hmmm... (sits back and thinks about question).
If your wondering whether I'm part of a BGLO... no.
Now if your question relates to whether I am member of a fraternity with a foundation that is "Greek" in the actual sense... yes (sorta kinda even then thats kinda touchy, but thats on that "for me to know, for you to find out if u cross" tip  ).
(bout to PM you, curious to know where this is leading...)
