I couldnt agree more, it is our responsiblity as educated african americans, to go back and instill some sort of pride and education into the lower income predomitely black and hispanic communities. For all of those who want to pursue education as a career choice, i salute u because its gonna be hard to reverse the miseducation we have going on right now. To those in business, we should look towards independency, and building our own legitimate business in our neihborhoods to stop gentrification. to those in science and healthcare, we should work together to educate our people on how to live and eat healthy. After all, it seems that we are at higher risk to many of the illnesses that plague our community. And to those in law and political science, it is your job to fight for the injustices that are being done to our people. You are our voice that rarely makes it to congress, the court room, and the white house. Its a big task but i still have hope.
^^^No ones saying that people living in the hood should not buy 200 dollar shoes. The point is that they are not living within their means. If by buying that pair of shoes and a few outfits to wear with it you are neglecting food, bills and the necessary stuff then your priorities are wrong. That is the point he was making. Black peoples priorities are wrong and for the most part he is correct, especially where low income families are concerned. I can go in my moms apartments right now, point out families on section 8 who have luxury cars in the parking lot, who use their lonestar card to buy cigarettes, I mean I really can go on but do I need to.
hmmmm......either way it goes Black people's priorities are messed up from the upper class to the lower class. On the other hand, as long as one has attained education (college and beyond) and reaps the benefits of a good paying career what is wrong with that? The problem is the lower class which outnumbers the upper/middle class. They are the ones with poor nutrition but Jordan's on their feet to go with gold chains. They are the ones who live in SECTION 8 complexes but have HOLLYWOOD cars...how do you explain that? You can not just say, well the upper/middle class influenced them!!!! and if they did what happened to the educational part??? Without a doubt white people(switching from white sheets to business suits) have hurt black warriors and nubian queens , its obvious. The question now is , "HOW MUCH HAVE BLACK PEOPLE HURT THEMSELVES  "
hint* hint* if want to make white people angry...get an education and beat them at their own game
