T.I. and lil flip beef... did i miss something?? Posted on 06-24-2004

This weekend at Atlanta's Hot 107.9's 9th annual Birthday Bash, T.I. took the stage to dish out a verbal **** on Lil Flip. Now, Lil Flip responds saying T.I. is just another mad rapper trying to get attention. Lil Flip caught a verbal beatdown this weekend courtesy of T.I., who took his opportunity on stage at Hot107.9's annual concert to call out the Houston rapper. Fresh out of the pen wearing his orange inmate jumper, T.I. commandeered the stage for minutes dissing Lil Flip for allegedly calling himself "The King of the South." Lil Flip, who was scheduled to go on following T.I., never made it to the stage. But he explains it's not because he was ever scared. "I hear T.I. is on stage with like 20 of his men supposedly ready to confront me when it was my turn to take the stage," explains Flip. "First of all, I was late and it was supposed to be over. At that point the police and the venue people kept us off the stage, they were gonna shut it down and leave." Despite TI's rampage, Flip states he never called himself the King of the South and that T.I. is just trying to get publicity to sell records. "Dude is on stage mad, claiming he's the King of the South, and that I said he wasn't. All I gotta say is that I don't even KNOW him. I mean, I hear he's calling out my peoples Luda and DTP too so I guess it's just part of the game for him, a publicity stunt to move some more units. I don't need to do anything extra to draw more attention to myself." Bottom line, Lil Flip says he's staying focused on his hustle and away from the drama that comes with mainstream success. "A lot of people have been coming at me, and I really don't have the time to address all of them. Ima keep doin' me regardless, I got a new hit record out. I've been in so much beef in my life, I'm happy to be here and still be living. I've put in my time. If he wanna take it there, I mean he got a team, I got a team too, so its whatever. Otherwise, go find another way to sell records 'cause I am selling records."
