Do you know anybody that talked all the time about pledging a particular organization, (ie: talked to members, went to workshops, & interest meetings) but then, were NOT accepted.....so they pledged the next best thing??
I know this girl that talked ALL THE TIME about becoming an AKA. she went to ALL the events they put on and went to 2 interest meetings. By the time she was ready to pledge the chapter had already put 2gether an underground line, and they were due to probate shortly. She knew they only had lines once every 1 or 2 years, so she started looking for other options. To make a long story short, she went to whoever was likely to put her on. she found the Zetas. now she represents Zeta like nobodys business!! party hops, nalia, etc!!
Do yawl know anybody like that, and if so, how are they perceived by the people that KNOW tha real deal??
^^LOL! You on a roll girl! And tell us what you get out of your 21 days besides learning how to be anti-AKA and bark like an Omega? Did I just say that? Okay let me retract that. I have lots of love for the real women of DST. But it's obvious that you have been well-trained by girls to do what some of yall do best- have this envious attitude towards those of us with class and dignity. No, you're right; there's no way you could've ever been one of us because no one can train you to be a woman<---and obviously your prophytes failed you in that area. But hey, look at it on the bright side: at least you got you some letters! I'm done with you and this topic. Have a nice day
21 days? Is that how long it was? ok. However long it took to EARN my letters, please know that the time wasn't spent barking or being anti-AKA. Some of my closest friends are AKAs, and I love them dearly. What's truly obvious is that your letters came gift-wrapped in the thinnest PAPER available. The slightest mention of the "process" that some, not all, AKAs go through and you get your **** in a bunch. Nobody said that you got yours on a weekend pass, but it's painfully obvious that we have hit a nerve with the mere mention of it. Everybody knows about the weekend trip to become a member of JiffyKappaPop. It's no longer a secret. If it offends you so much, why don't you become a delegate for your org. and try to have it changed at the next convention? Don't shoot down the messengers. And my prophytes are some of the crunkest, knowledgeable, capable, and compassionate Deltasyou'll ever come across. They performed a highly commendable job of guiding my linesisters and me to Delta Land. In case you missed it the first time, your org. is of no interest to me. If it was all that, there would be no Delta Sigma Theta. Why don't you ask your prophytes, Basilus, or some other AKA who might know exactly what did your org do before 1913. Was it anything of substance? No. Exactly why is your incorporation date in 1913, if you'd been around 5 years before? What was the rush then? What made you all decide that community service should be a component of your sorority? Hmmmm.......? You should thank your lucky stars and Nellie Quander that you even have an organization.
Whoa, wait a minute, you all are airing dirty laundry on here. And this is sisterhood? C'mon now. This would really discourage someone from joining your organizations. Let's have some respect for all of the divine nine and other BGLOs. This is embarrising. This brings me to my point that I believe that organizations are loosing site of what their objectives are. Service to all mankind should be #1. Pleding, wearing colors, oop-ooping, and skee-weeing is not what it's all about. You all should know this. I'm not even in an organization and I'm offened by what both of you have been on here saying. Think about how you all are representing your organizations. This is really sad.
Hahaha, I know a few chicks like that. One just crossed AKA and wore pink and green all damn semester, I'd just look at her and shake my head. I know this other chick who's momma is a Delta but since our Deltas got suspended, she went out for AKA. It's a shame cuz the Deltas really did run the yard.
Maybe she wanted to do AKA. Not everybody does something b/c they run the yard. Alot of ppl thought i was going to be a Delta b/c they thought it fit me and they thought i wanted to do the popular thing like everyone else.....had to let them know, im not like everyone else, ima trendsetter
Naw, I think you misunderstood my statement, so lemme reword it for ya..."It's a shame that the Deltas got suspended because they really did run the yard." Now that has nothing to do with her wanting to be a Delta b/c they ran ish, she let it be known that she wanted to be a Delta because of her mother, but after they got suspended, she ran to another org.

K-slay, you are entitled to your opinion. I respect that. But also respect the fact that it doesn't bother me if you dont want to be a part of my beloved sisterhood. I'm fine with that. Not everyone is called to Delta. And historically speaking, I know of what I speak. I am not airing "dirty laundry." What happened just happened.
Summa this stuff aint rite & I jus really want to jump in but know i'll show my favor to a certain sorority, which is a big no no...so i'll jus say smh & leave
I sure do know someone of that nature. As a matter of fact, she doens't know I know about her plans. She wants with everything to be a DELTA. She talked to someone about gettin on and the girl told her there may not be a line. So she goes and tell somone else if she can't get on, she's gonna go Zeta. How bout hell no she won't..... Not through MY chapter. I think that's shady...

****... look at the archives and ya'll understand lol... dude just told on himself lol.
Yeah look at the archives, I don't care. Believe you me, it ain't that serious. Everything on here is made up. Don't you get it? But anyway, what I said about the AKA and the Delta fighting is true, it was sad. Damn, yall need to get some lives.

If anything, I would probably be even MORE interested in joining an organization such as mentioned. To hear the compassion & feelings that are being relayed from the inner heart and into this little 230x400 rectangular box is amazing! It says that people do care about their orgs and refuse to let anyone tarnish the name and achievements that it is held so highly upon. off topic (or not) I've always believed in one thing... Pain is temporary.....Pride is Forever!!
This is a real good topic, cuz Im in the process of tryna figure out when i want to join and when i do, which sorority to join. I mean I really dont understand the problem cuz lets say in the beginning im stuck b.w. two sororities and i choose one ova the other over a small difference and i didnt make it, whats wrong with me going and doing the other sorority if i was interested in both of them from the beginning?

I don't think there is such a thing as a small difference... I think that your heart should be set on one.. I mean.. what would you have to offer the second sorority? SLoppy Seconds? I think you should just try the first sorority again... byt he time you've done you research and gone to interest meetings and rush week and other org sponsored activities, you should know what you want to do... you can't have it both ways.. more likely than not, you probably wouldn't make the 2nd sorority either if they found out about you applying and not being selected into the first sorority... (even if you do make the second one, they have ways to get back at you for that.... line names can be a doozy.. (Pink pyramid, Bloody Ivy, Crimson Apple, Krimson kitten... etc..)
