Hey I can relate to you some....campus life does get a little better during the fall because they tend to have more parties. But a lot of times you have to create your own fun. Of course coming from up North or from a big city it's going to be boring. I don't know from personal expericence but because my best friend happened to be from New York. I know it **** that you can't have a car your freshmen or sophmore year, but u can always work around that one. Try to befriend upper classmen so that you can get a ride to Norfolk, because the mall downtown is nice....there is three levels. Plus there is Va beach, Bush Garden's, and Kings Dominion which isn't too far....it's all about connections and finding means of transportation. During the regular school year especially in the fall there are football games and stuff. For some people after a while it kind of grows on you and then for some other people it just isn't for them.
The cafe food...*laughs* There isn't anything positive I can say about that..I know I avoided the cafe a many of days...

Hell, I knew that Hampton was in the middle of nowhere when I was a freshman in high school. He should have checked all of this out before making his final decision. And then... he hasn't even started REAL college yet... pre-college at Hampton is also comprised of summer bridge students; meaning some students NEED pre-college to get officially admitted into Hampton. They are not going to have parties every night and so forth because these students are there to handle business.. NOT to party. We are just saying that before starting threads like "HAMPTON UNIVERSITY ****", he needs to give it a chance.

. the key word in that name is PRE lol. What in the world were you expecting, a block party everday. Come on man, lets be serious. You are not experiencing the full college experience, and if you are going transfer somewhere else based off of that, then you need not continue with hampton.
perhaps i am being a bit harsh, for that i apologize. However, you have to figure out why you are going to college. Although i want to have fun, i want to go partying and meet people, i am there really for one reason. I am attending hampton to get the best Broadcast journalism education i can get at a historically black college. That is it, if i get the fun social atomsphere, and meet alot of cool people thats great. But if i don't thats fine too. Until you figure out why you are going to college in the first place, i can guarantee you that Howard (the fake HU), Hampton, Harvard or yale will not satisfy your thirst. You first of all have to know what your thirsty for, before you decide what to drink (if that makes any sense).
And for those white is right black people, think about this. Over 80 percent of america's black middle class was educated at Historically black colleges. Working at the same, corporations, and business, as their Princeton, yale, and MIT counter parts. where would we be if there were no HBCU's. Grant it, HBCU's have their problems, but when you attend a PWI you will inherit a brand new world of issues. No college experience is perfects its what you make of it.
Dispite our disagreement Drama King i wish you much sucess in your future endeavors. And i pray that you find your reason for going to college. Stick with Hampton you might be surprised.
I think i wrote to much.
