Like my fellow Hamptonians said our homecoming is wack!!! Its basically for the Alumni... cuz aint no way we would endulge in a jazz concert.... I mean I love Jazz to death but homecoming I wanna see some rappers...lol...not no damn Marques Houstan..lol But we do always have some nice cabarets.... until they get shut down
But Howard & A&T got the best ones..from what I have seen~
LMBAO...
I swear...i LOVE my school and i LOVE the people that go there. We just dont give a fukk.
Its funny cause I know people who had planned to go to Howard, but when they saw its " surroundings " they changed their mind with the quickness. I never been to Howard for myself, so I cant give an honest opinion...but I will give respect where respect is due. If Howard is located in the ghetto as I have heard, it doesnt take away from their greatness one bit. And it must not be that bad with all the students who go there. Regardless, they will and always will be THE MECCA.
^^^I'm feelin this post right here . That sounds like an intelligent young lady.
i hate to say it... Howard has the hottest homecoming. i've been to an aggie homecoming and my lil cuz is going there this up coming semester. but i'm more looking forward to going to Howard than our own. but that doesnt make yall the real HU... only for that weekend. any other weekend i utterly dislike D.C.
Shout out to my girlfriend Shani and my lil sister Vanessa... both Bisons
FAMU has the crunkess homecoming!...and to answer your question HUsweetie, howard stadium is not big enough for FAMU band. So until howard get a big enough stadium, I doubt the 100 will ever show up!
AND THAT'S REAL
umm actually sweetie if ya read the actual HBCU news, your band wanted howard to pay yall 10,000 upfront plus driving/food/hotel expenses to come to Howard's homecoming....we know yall low on funds and er'thang but dang....we dont even pay grambling that much so how you expect us to pay yall's hyped up band anything in that price area....heck yall betta step yall game up like the sound machine and try again with that trifling ghetto mess lol...HOWARD DONT PLAY THAT
 Thats pretty funny coming from a school that lays right in the heart of the ghetto.
Cosigns. FAMU Homecoming is off the chain esp. the carnival/block party, dorm step show, and the game(or halftime at least) only when we play Hampton do we get some competition
The only reason why the 100 got into the Battle of the Bands in ATL was because the judges felt sorry that it was y'all last year playin' w/ us black folk.. I guess they were wrong...
...so thats howard excuse for NOT making it to the battle of bands in ATL? that got to be the most dumbness excuse I ever heard a band say for being sorry...gone with that!
... and just to drop in on a lil info, the bands was choosen by voting, not judges!
Actually.. if you wanna be completely correct, 33% of the vote was online voting.. 33% was the directors, and 33% was the commissioners...http://hondabattleofthebands.com/2003/releases/websitelaunch.doc Howard won the fan voting.. trust me.. we were keeping track of the percentages up until they closed voting... the "Judges" I was referring to were the commissioners....My bad w/ the wrong word usage... I think I'm about done w/ this band arguement.. save it for the 5th quarter...
Whopee u won the fan voting but that is only 1/3 and we won the other 2/3. Common sense tells us that 2/3 > 1/3. I can't speak for Howard's homecoming cause i haven't been although i did hear last year was crunk, and we will leave who's fault it was for the fight after the game to the MEAC

Well...i have a friend who's a reporter for the hilltop and she was back in the locker rooms when it all went down. In a nut shell...FAMU got pretty pissy cuz they lost and started trashin the guest locker room. I mean, they were ****! Rippin stuff off the walls, trashin it up, throwing things...so hell yeah a fight was gonna break down.
^^ I was down there waitin for my friend to get out of the LRoom... it was crazee.. like **** ain't neva lost to HOWARD before.. lol.. shyt...
HELL yeah we are in the midst of the "ghetto".. DOesn't that say something about the caliber of our students and the skool? that people would leave their nice suburban homes to come learn at the feet of giants.. How much more does it say when our graduation rate is one of the highest among HBCUs.. I guess the "ghetto" doesn't do anything but MOTIVATE us to become more shrewd businessmen, more apt communicators and more connected physicians...
LET THAT SIMMER
and back to the topic (since the above ****ain't got Nothing to do w/ our homecoming)... HU's homecoming is still the best.. I'll see y'all who are BRAVE enuff to leave your lil' campuses and get gully w/ us and see how WE do it.. October 30.. Sleep tite.. don't let the BISONS bite..

 *sigh*...i digress...soooo...i wonder what's gonna be crackin at HU's homecoming this year??? A sistah is definately trying to get on that steering committee. Ya feel me  ?
Since applications were already taken and people were already chosen, STEERING COMMITTEE is not open for new people this year... Apllications for that come out in the spring.. However, you should apply to be a volunteer.... I did that last year.. although it was a lot of work (and we were sworn to secrecy) it was definitely worth it.. I mean.. i can say " I was part of the RAPTURE (A legend in the making)" lol.. not literally, but it was fun as hell..(a couple of 5 am mornings, but not anything too stuffy).. they should have the interest meeting the week skool starts or about that time.. also, they will have a webpage... you can go to : www.howarduhomecoming.com to see the things from last year.. good luck.. hopefully, I'll see you at the meeting!!
