I agree that Oprah would have to spend like maybe 8 or 10 years as a congress person and work her way up. Then she'd have to finally Marry Stedman, after that she would be a major contender.

some people dont even know who al gore is, some people voted for george bush just because they thought he was his father running for re-election, when people think of oprah, they think of a kind giving spirit, not a politician, people dont like politicians, they hate them, and people dont like oprah, they love her

Wow...so you mean that there are more people who know and would vote for Oprah than Al Gore, just because she has a good heart? I think everybody is lookin at this toooo idealistically...remember what country we are in. Politics is soooo much different from everything else. Yeah, people don't like politicians, and they love Oprah as not being one...but soon as she got into politics, things would definitely be different. Maybe if this was for senate or somethin I could understand, but I just really do not see her bein the president of the US anytime soon, if ever, and that's just the real.

ARNOLD, a horrible speaking, accused ****, former drug user, Mr. Universe, foriegner won the Governorship of one of the wealthiest states in the union. On top of that Arnold had no government experience at all, and might i repeat Arnold is a foriegner. Now if he can win the Governorship, why in the world can't Oprah. Someone has already stated most voters are stupid. People don't vote on the issues, they vote on who they know. Please believe, The whole world knows Oprah. I might even say she could win President of the World (thus becoming the anit-christ; but that is another subject)

Being governor is a totally different story from president of the US. I don't think Arnold could even take that one (the again...if somebody woulda asked if i thought he'd be my gov...i would have said no to that too. ANOTHA STORY!). Anywayz, i think Oprah could take mayor, senator, congresswoman...with not too much of a problem. And maybe after she got her feet wet a lil bit and politics...and proved herself as a legit politician...she could possibly have a chance. Yes we have stupid voters and fickled citizens...but white peeps are real quick to snap out of that when their positions of power are threatened.

U know i am so sick and tiried of this like Oprah's a black women she can't do it. Lets look at what Oprah has become, she is a self made black billionaire, a few years ago that was "Believed to be" impossible, after all she is a black women. Before that, no one every believed that a Russell Simmons could turn Rap into the mulit billion dollar industry it is today. Before that few blacks believe that we would ever have a top rated tv show. Then the Bill Cosby show came along and showed white America that an all black cast is a bankable product. Way, before that it was believed that blacks would never attain civil rights. "The white man won't give them to us". Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Bobby Seal, Huey Newton, Nat Turner, Fredderick douglass, Booker T. Washington, Barbara Jordon and others; all were considered crazy and unrealistic for what they did. Before that it was believed that blacks would never be free, it took about 400 years, but guess what, we are free today. No, no, no, no, but see lets ignore the millions of milestones we have accomplished, and use the fact that we are black as a handicapp. Lets not look at the great towering Empires of Egypt, and Ghana, but focus on this handicapp we call blackness. Lets not encourage and empower one another, but use our black skin to divide and tear down one another. To me Its like we have admitted defeat before we have even begun to fight. Its like, oh well i am black, might as well forget about the white house now. Lets put ourselves in this little box of i can'ts and it wont work. Lets wait for the white man to give us some construction material to make our little box, a little bigger. WELL,I don't leave in a box, where my actions are dictated by the white man. I believe in endless possibilties, just look at what the human race has accomplished in the past century. I don't agree with everything she does, but dayum Oprah is a smart business women. It is her determination and her work ethic that have made her sucessful and rich. I am not saying that she could run tomorrow and win with no government experience. Let her get her feet wet and she could achieve whatever she wants. It is not white people that determine how far and how sucessful we are in life, it is ourselves. More importantly than that; if it is GOD's will, than there is no force on this earth that can stop u. We as a race of people need to stop looking at the mountain that is in front of us, and do as martin Luther King said, "i am here to tell u tonight...that i've looked over, and i've seen the promised land". Perhaps i am a eternal optimist, but if we can go to the moon and back, Oprah Winfrey can be President of the United states

I think you mis-interpreted what he said. We definitely aren't being negative...we are just being REALISTIC. We all know how the power structure in America is...White men on top, then white women, then black men, then black women, as far as just going with blacks and whites. Do you realize that this is POLITICS???? This is not a TV Show, this is not "the apprentice" or any competition of who can become more successful. If there is one thing that white America will try their hardest for it to never happen, it is a black president. They don't even want a white woman president. So a black woman president is two strikes. This has nothing to do with me and some others being pessimistic at all, we just realize that we are in AMERICA, and this is one thing that they could definitely prevent from happening. Determination can make you rich, and bein rich can help you become a president, but just because you have both does not mean that you can win the damn presidency.

It was considered realistic to be black and a **** in this country. It was realistic to be patronized, hung beaten and lynched in america. It was realistic that all blacks were ignorant, stupid, inferior, and worthless in this america. It was realistic that blacks could never be equal to white people in america. See all of that up there was polictical slander. On top of that is was the LLLLAAAAWWWW, a little something called jim crow, and black code comes to mind. It doesn't get more political than that. I can tell u that white people fought hard for 600 years to keep it that way. HERES A THOUGHT, were would we be if we had accepted that reality and rolled the hell over. Oh wait, i forgot something, one of the most powerful people in government right now is SECRETARY OF STATE; COLLIN POWELL; a black man. Go figure, i am sure that happening wasn't realistic.
