usually Momma is always there but at times Daddy never was..I'm lucky cause I have a strong relationships with my pops and I'm just wondering who on HBCU has that same bond/relationship and who doesn't..
I am fortunate to have a good relationship with my dad, except for when I am driving then that goes out the window. He is a backseat/passenger driver in every sense of the word. I tell him pretty much everything which is more than i can say to my momma, she would flip over half the stuff I have told my dad. I thank God everyday for my family because 2 of my best friends, we grew up to together but they haven't had dads in the life.

Me and ma dad have a good relationship even though my mom and him are divorced. I can call him for anything. Now he has done his share of sh!t but i still respect him and love him .
My dad has been in my life since day one...though he missed me being born. :? But yeah and I have a close relationship with my dad. We are more compatible than my mom and me. My mom and I have not such a good relationship...not one as close as I'd like. But sometimes my dad gets on my nerves...but for the most part he is cool.
My father and I have a closer relationship than my mom and I do, although I am with my mom 24/7. My dad always got me whatever I wanted and basically spoiled me, but my mom couldn't do that because I have a younger sister also. Therefore, I told my mom I hated her a lot and we frequently get into a lot of arguments and fights. I cannot wait until I leave!
we'll i'm here and my dad is there....what more else can i say, i see him when i see him, talk to him when i talk to him, but we aren't on the same page, plus i don't live with him anymore so....i just do my own thing....
I am much closer to my mom...but I don't have alot to complain about. Me and my father are alike...we shop alike, we both LOVE sports, I swear me and my brother are younger versions of him(in his pre-Christian days) which is why he's **** us. I don't appreciate him missing the most important events in my life for church or work but I still love him and wouldn't trade him for the world...
oh I had to tell this story...it's very disturbing but true
last summer around this time, my friend's father died...she's the oldest of 8. This girl I know called my friend the day of the funeral and was like what r y'all doin? And my friend was like oh we're having a water fight...so the girl was like "girl your father just died" and one of her brothers was like "oh well people die, u move on" I thought that was crazy...so I thank God I'm close to my father...I don't know what i would do if he died
where's the in the middle one? Where u hate his guts and somtimes wishes he would drop ****, but he still mails the checks? *i think i need a hug*
Please believe that I respect my father to a certain degree but just because hes there financially doesent make him a father. And thats real. It takes more than " I pay the bills in this house" to be a father.
my pops and i had a rocky history my moms raised me since i was 2 but i still knew who my dad was.the whole livin without a dad was hard for me but when i thought i hated the guy i soon forgave him ,even though my parents lied to me wen i was younger i can c y they where tryin to protect me , but my dad is not really a parent persay but more like a friend he listens to me and never judges me , he helps me through hard times especially with my mom and at the same time crack jokes about each other,i admit that he's not the best father but hes good enuff 4 me
