I just crossed into PhiMuAlpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America Inc. (its a music fraternity for those who don't know) this past semester. I know how the atmosphere is in the AUC in regards to non-panhellinic organizations but how are they looked upon at other schools? Also what are your thoughts on being in mulitple fraternities. I know alot of my bruhs are both Sinfonians and part of other organizations as well including KKPsi and various pan-hells. Me personally i'm still interested in one particular organization but I don't think I'll pledge undergrad again. What are some of your thoughts?
I know I'm new to this board and it is aparent to me that there is a lot of bashing going on. I am in the band frat and the divine 9 and the oldest organization in the world in wich we take up almost 75 percent of this planet! My point is that some pan hel chapters can hang and some can't, but don't nock KKPSI and TBS if you don't know. When you pledge you have to see your big brothers everyday. That includes some classes plus band rehearsals and then sessions. That is a 99.9% guarantee that you will get wrecked! Quietly, if anyone has ever seen an HBCU pre-drill camp or band practice would know that most of the people in the devine nine could not hang... especially if you get your letters over a weekend. For the record how about trying to support your black brother and sister organizations. GOOD DAY!

That brought back some ill feelings right there lol. I'm a music major so I see Morehouse's musc faculty everyday. Out of the 9 teachers i'm around daily 8 are frat (most pledged), including the chairman of the dept (he's an Alpha too), and the dean of humanities (he's a Nupe and I have class with him as well). I picked a bad semester because ALL of my classes except one was taught by frat and there was at least one big brother in each class. Not too mention faculty is active in your process (one was too fuccin active, i'll leave that alone tho lol). Big Brother really was watching our every move... lol.
BTW just letting you know the only real bashing thats going on was by one person who can't even rep what they are, everybody else for the most part has been extremely cool with theirs. I feel the love . I just got hype because I'm fresh off the Neo boat (hold up... i'm still on it... :? ).
btw how many people were on your line? We had 8 (8 K.E.Y.S.).
All I can do is read and let this mess sink in. You know the main reason that people believe there is so much BEEF is cuz we let them. GRILL IT UP AND EAT IT YALL!! There is NO REASON that there should be any mess between the Pan organizations, the non-Pan, or any others for that matter. One of my girls came through TBS in 04. I was right there to see her do her thing. I understand the work that goes into the band frat/sorority simply because on top of all... u have to maintain the love and the art the music. In turn, my girl was there to see me unmasked entering into the world of the D9.
ITS ALL LOVE! We all worked hard (hopefully) for the letters we wear and the choices we made are our own. We know that... so stop lettin OUTSIDERS be the ones to cause chaos and confusion within the organizations.
BTW.... ol' dude has yet to say what...if any... frat he reps. So PLEASE... brush that mess off!
AMEN!!! that says it all right there.
Yeah, I feel you. One thing i can say about Morehouse is that greek unity is really getting up there. It wasn't like it my freshmen year but this past year alot of people who were cool did different organizations and now there is this pretty decent atmostphere (lil things here and there that are negative but they are petty and isolated). We all get along and we all party together to the point where we have people planning on throwing joint events; ques+kappas, sigmas+KKPsi, sigmas+alphas, pma+kkpsi... and everybody goes to the Groove's parties (them joints are always off the chain lol, not to mention they do alot on campus too). I was just curious to know what it was like elsewhere because it seems kind of rare when I speak with others.
Hmmm.......
Well, at Howard, from what I can see Greeks keep to themselves. We keep to ourselves and focus on us for the most part. The Morehouse Bruhs, Iota Theta, are damn crunk as all hell. I gotta call up my sands now that I'm thinking about it.
I feel you on the "seeing a bruh every 5 seconds" thing. Two of them had a habit of just popping up in the dorms every now and then. And since I'M a music major, I saw Bruhs all the time. But, I just saw it as a oppurtunity to learn and be educated. Plus, with them around I was always doing something constructive with my time.
Ah, the joys of parenthood. My son in the Psi, I'm glad that you aint letting anyone talk trash about out org. I got a phone call from a concerned person about how heated your posts were so I had to read for myself. I hope everyone knows that any **** with a keyboard is fully capable of misrepresenting the ideas, opinions, and realities of an organization, whether they are a part of it or not. k-whatever (I dont feel like checking his name, it is of no import) has a limited grasp on how diverse the human race can be. I'm certain that he has no idea of how the REAL majority of ANY organization feels about ANYTHING, especially other organizations. Dont let blatant foolishness on the part of any single person change how you see any organization. In the long run, if they are all doing what they were designed to do, with their various purposes and functions, you want to know who wins?? (it sounds cheesy but its true) EVERYONE. Young men and women are bonding, learning, and building up the community. Now if we as college students want a group to talk trash about, there are plenty of **** gangs, terrorists, and drug dealers screwing up humanity that we can choose from.
C'mon number twice/M.O.D. #2, we know our shizzle is off the chain. oh yea, hit a DP up sometime, yall think yall too grown for that? Hmm?
"Party Hops off the Scene"
HEYYYYYYYYYY POPS!!!!!
I really do need to call up the Bruhs to make sure they know I'm still alive.
I know that we handle ours and thats all that matters.

Same here... like they said you don't pledge till after you cross and we have work to do during the summer even though we aren't together...
well just to add in my two cent.....i am a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, which is very new on Clark Atlanta's campus, so I have had to deal with my share of problems. I decided to join Gamma Sigma Sigma because I saw it as a way to make a difference, not only on our campus, but in the world. However,The D9 organizations don't seem to take us very seriously, they seem to think(or at least the sororities do) that we were created in their image and that we wake up every morning trying to figure out ways to be like them. I didn't expect to be welcomed with open arms after pledging GSS, but the disrespect that we receive is uncalled for. People come up to you rudely asking about our call, our sign, and what it all means, as well as various other questions that they would not answer if someone walked up to them and asked them that about their organization. Also, members of D9 orgs, who I hope would be able to read greek letters, come up to us asking us if we are delta's, or simply "what does that say" or "what is that". Plus, people are always like "are they serious", or "are they real", like we decided to just make up a sorority it's crazy. It even goes so far as to the administration, alot of whom happen to be members of D9, they hate on us too in ways that i am not able to disclose..but it's crazy. the way i see it is that we should be allowed to coexist on campus without having to deal with disrespect, i expected people to hate, but not disrespect. i know that they do this out of ignorance, but i wish they would educate themselves before making assumptions and being blatantly disrespectful. Anyway, for my chapter and I, we just brush the dirt of our shoulder, and when asked by D9 members about the "purpose" of our organization we respond:
Chanting:
"We are dedicated to service, what the HELL do you DO?"

Well, up here at DSU, the D9 greeks pretty much leave us be. I mean, we get our respect, we respect them, and we keep it moving....No drama from no one.
That's the way it should be....To each their own.
For the most at SU, we don't bother them and they don't bother us. We work well together because many of our members are members of both and they remain active in both. We have had people to do a D9 org and THEN do QTPi or UPhiU. If they have unkind things to say...they say it amongst themselves...
