We all know hazing is "Illegal" (riiiiiight)... but still occurs anyway regardless of how watchful the eye is on big brother and whatever guidelines they have. However, every once in a while the the opportunity presents itself to some folk to go paper. Some do... some choose to work for theirs. I just want to here from those in any GLO, their feelings about the whole going paper scenario. Right now i'm semi-neutral because now that i'm on the other side I understand the whole not wanting to jeopardize getting your chapter kicked off the yard over somebody who complains plus the fact that this past semester was far from fun and i'm really not the type to want to pass that on to somebody else, however, i still feel people should work for their letters in some kind of way, feel me? What do you think?
Man... this is so random but its late and my imagination is off the chain right now lol...
What if "The Count" from Sesame street was frat lol? ya DP?
"How many times must you get in the cut for your ignorance....
ONE!!! TWO!!! THREE!!!
Three smacks for you ignorance... AH AH AH AAAAAH!!!
(of course we are all non-hazing organizations and i'm hypothetically speaking  )
F! sesame street anyway... Chip-n-Dale rescue Rangers was my jump when i was watching tv.
Well I for one am all for honorary members! I can only speak for my own org when I say that the honorary members have significantly contributed to the black community as well as society as a whole! We don't just say "oh you're famous, sign here, congrats, you're one of us" no way! LOL! They are extended membership based on their high ethical and moral standards as well as their contributions to society. I speak proudly of sorors like Rosa Parks, Iyanla Vanzant, Mae Jemison, Suzanne de Passe, Elenoare Roosevelt just to name a few. Coretta Scott-King, Phylicia Rashad (and her sis Debbie Allen), all pledged but they have been very significant in the black community and the list goes on and on! I am very proud of my honorary sorors and all of their contributions to mankind!
Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, John Coltrane, and Jason Weaver are all honoray Bruhs in Psi. Jason Weaver............thats something else I care not to discuss. I know Bill Clinton is a Bruh as well and rumor has it, he actually pledged.......weird. R. Kelly is................wow........a Bruh. Well, he's a good musician and contributes to the art of music. Don't know if he's honorary or not. I can faithfully say all of our honorary members have contributed great things to the frat and to the art of music and the band ensemble.

Oh snap! Rrrrah Kelly went to college?! No disrespect to your org, yall are good, but Rrrrrah?! I just read an article that said he was illiterate?! Oh well may be a rumor *shrug*
I've heard paper was signing the lines when you had the option of going through a process.
As far as grad chapters...I know personally that if I wanted to get involved with an organization it is almost impossible for me to do it undergrad being that my school has a limitation on lines and legacies are guaranteed spots provided they have the gpa. I've heard this also occurs at other large HBCUs. If I make it that far and am called paper I doubt I would care being that I stuck to something that I really wanted. I've heard some folks who go grad are respected because they do the work for their organizations, which is what really matters. I think at that age some one would be fairly immature just to join and org, pay for it just so that they can claim letters.
I mean papers are looked down upon at my school .. And I see why! .. Im going through all this and that u signin a piece of paper!! .. Yeah RIGHT .. EARN YOUR LETTERS!! .. Thats how I feel .. And its not just about "hazing" .. Its about bonding with ur sisters and learning your history!
But its still all love. Long as they have a membership card, u ight by me
Question...would you rather have someone who "pledged" and has done anything since the day he/she went over or would you rather have "paper" who knows the history and works hard for the org? Which is worse?
Question...since you are life long members of your orgs, at which point in your life will this "pledge/paper" thing no longer be a burning issue to you? Age 50...60...70...never???
Hmmmmm, good question but we as Greeks must remember that the real pledging starts AFTER you are blessed with your letters b/c it’s not how exactly how you came in, but what you do to uphold the values and uplift the name of your organization. I personally would want a bro that is about putting in work for his organization and not simply showing up at the party or stepshow with some nalia on. I don’t have patience, nor, time for “T-Shirt” wearers. I need bruhs that are down for the cause and willing to put in WORK. There I’ve said my peace on that… lol
As for question two, the whole “paper” thing goes away, well it depends on the mindset of the people around you, it’s mighty hard to sit around with your LB’s/LS’s and talk about your “intake experience” when u aint really have one..
I have heard of " paper "....but I dont completely understand how it works. Can someone explain to me how the paper process works???
Its kind of self explanatory .. U sign a piece of paper and get a number but no line name .. Why? .. Line names derive from ur personality while ur "online" .. And being that they were never online .. Their bigs never got a chance to see their personality so therefore they get no name .. they get a number simply because ur number goes according to ur height .. They dont perform in the probate .. Because while "online" u compose ur probate and they were never "online" so no probate .. The only people Ive known to go paper are legacys (People whose mother was apart of the organization the daughter is trying to pledge) .. They dont wanna go through with the hardwork so they sign their way in ..
Anyone apart of a sorority or fraternity feel free to add .. subtract .. clarify .. or correct me if Im wrong
I don't know where you are getting your info from but you are severely misinformed. Unless you have been through an actual process how can you comment on it? I don't mean any harm to you personally but it irks me when non-greeks do this: "I heard this" and "Well basically this is how it goes if u are greek" that. I feel safe in speaking for ALL BGLOs (and I know members of ALL who can vouch for this) that simply signing a piece of paper and being on your merry way is not an option, regardless of if its grad or undergrad. Like I said, I will not get into my own personal process cause that's only for my LS's and I to discuss. Let's just say the legacies on my line went through the same thing I did  it's about bonding and becoming one with your line.
ive seen girls sign a sheet of paper and be on their merry way
