I heard that a lot of people have recieved Howard scholarships. Also, I am not done stalking te mailbox especially because April 1st is right around the corner....(admission decisions arrive) anyways......Girl, I have nightmares too.
Thats great, I wish I would receive a full scholarship, but these little ones will do for now. I think you made a very good decision, because howard is just as great but now it is even better because it is free! How does Howard determine who gets scholarships because I have been hearing a lot of people saying they got one.?
Its based off GPA and ACT/SAT scores. But its weird because not everybody who qualifies gets one. Like my friend turned in her application before mine ( we both did Early Action ) and has a higher ACT score ( 30, and I had 28 ) but she didn't get a scholarship.
I'm so scared too......And I about to visit!!! What if I don't get in and I'm walking around the campus dying inside??? It is definitly past April 1st though I thought it would come before. I def need to stop stalking the mailbox.

Well, like I said previously, I have been stalking my mailman for the last few days. So I was like if April 1st is Wednesday the letter should be here by Friday or Saturday.
So Friday I'm rushing home from school and I see nothing but small envelopes...so I take the mail out look through it and realize that there is still nothing from Spelman...
the suspense builds...
So, Saturday afternoon I make plans with some friends to go out for lunch somewhere, but I know I'm not going anywhere until the mailman comes...so they're all calling me and rushing me and I'm like "nope!!! not leaving until the mailman comes...lol
Sooooo, as the suspense builds and all of these thoughts are running through my mind...such as, "if it's small I'm not opening it!!!"
So, I'm laying on my couch in my pj's with my rag on my head and I hear the motor from the mailman's truck...
I immediately jump up and barge through the front door and down the steps to the box...the mailman is cracking up but telling me not to worry because around this times a lot of students camp out at their mail boxes...
sooooooooooooooooooo, I close my eyes and let him drive off...I go to the mailbox and open it and I see this big envelope with blue writing on it..so I smile, because it's from Spelman...
runnn in the house, open it...first word: "Congratulations!"

OMG, I am so glad you got in. Hopefully I see you there. Well, I live in CT so I assume it will take longer to get to me but I am def stalking the mailbox anyway. i got in back in december but still havent made a decsion between spelman and howard. i wish it was as easy as getting in and just going. hoawrd gave me full tuition but i really want to get into spelman. i got my financial aid package from them and thoguht my dream was over(there wasnt any scholarship) but them i found out they mail scholarship afters after financial aid. Im still hoping to go to spelman on a scholarship especially since i got into their honors program and was invited to join their WiSTEM/S3 program.
I skipped all the way from my mail box to my house, up the stairs and down again lol. I am so glad I am done with this!!!! So yeah does anyone know the exact amount to attend 09-10? I was told the direct amount would be roughly 36 grand but thenI was told a 30 grand indirectly. Can someone please explain?
