Prospective Spelman Women

this thread is for high school seniors who are HIGHLY interesed in attending Spelman College

Scholarships, grants, loans, and prayers will have to get me through my first year. I think she wants to be one of the first 550, because that's all they're letting in this year. Oh yeah, and congrats on being accepted!!! And for those that don't have a roommate how about you state what you think are pros and what you think are cons about yourself.

MariaBR when I went to like a spelman question and answer seminar thing they said they only have 550 spots open for the class of 2013...and that it is on a first come first served basis

Pros *I'm not loud *keep things in order *respect to others and their property *don't smoke or drink...so i won't be smelling like it Cons *talk in my sleep sometimes...I may snore but once in a while LOL *when I'm upset I like to listen to loud music *may not share certain things because I might not get it back * May have more to come

O wow I didn't know that, I really want to go but at the same time with this economy I can't afford to be 150,00 in the hole. N I don't want to have to drop out my sophmore or junior year becasue I can't pay. Why are they only letting in 550 freshman this year. And besides spelman is notorious for giving out lousy financial aid packets.

Thats what a lot of girls down there are having to do. (Drop out)

Has anyone sent their $300 enrollment fee...???

i sent in my $300 deposit...

my dad doesnt want me to take out loans he just would like me to stay in his range...he just wants me to go to state school...so like an average of like 25,000 a year...so i have to see if i'll be taking out any loans...im going to keep applying for scholarships..A LOT...probably everyday do ones that i qualify for

Sorry ladies for posting so late..... howdy, my names Ronique...... i'm a senior ( been out since December though) in high school and I received my acceptance letter to Spelman on March 23. I hope to see some of you girls at Spelbound !!!! I'll be n LLC II Residence Hall and my hostess is Ms. Lacey Reddix.

First, I would like to say: CONGRATS LADIES!!!!! You girls don't know how big of a blessing this is. I applied Early Notification and I received my letter this Friday saying that I was wait-listed. Since Spelman is the ONLY college I would really like to attend, I agreed to be placed on their wait-list. This is why I say that you ladies are BLESSED!!!There are MANY girls, myself being one of them, who are DYING to be in your shoes right now. So please don't take this opportunity lightly!! As for me, I'm not looking for any sympathy because I KNOW GOD has a plan for me. And somewhere in HIS plans, is Spelman. Though I won't be at Spelbound, I will see all of you ladies at the top, Spelman!!!!
