this thread is for high school seniors who are HIGHLY interesed in attending Spelman College
Thanks Diva 09! and yeah girl you just keep your faith in God because he will see you through just as he did for me. I am blessed to have gotten accepted but now I am really torn becasue the of the cost, I know God is going to make a way for me to go to school but I don't want to send in my $300 in then find out I can't go. On top of that the $ for Haoward and Hampton is due the first 2. I don't think they are going to be that nice with the money and all and I can only hope for scholarships and grants. I wish this wasn't so hard because I would **** to go. So right now I'm just going to wait for the financial Aid packet and keep praying and trusting God, beacuse I know that if I do my part he will do his. But quick question how does the wait listing thing work?
I'll be praying for the both of us!

I'll pray for you diva_09 and MariaBR. We all want to see each other on top(Spelman). I am so happy that god has blessed me with this. Spelman was the only college that I wanted to attend. I can't wait until August 15, 2009. We will hopefully all be Spelman's Class of 2013.
Thanks Ladies!!!! It's really appreciated.
@ MariaBR- A small number of applicants are placed on Spelman's waitlist and if someone who was offered admission chooses not to attend, then they'll notify us sometime around mid-June. Hopefully I'll know before then, but anything I hear will be after May 1st.
Yeah, it's like we're now stressing over the money and there's still ppl stressing to get in...
I wish everybody the best though...
I was talking to my cousin who is just like my sister, and we were basically talking about the money issue..
and with the calmest face someone could ever have she said, "just do it."
She was looking at me like what's the big deal, because I will be just like the majority of the other girls at Spelman; struggling.
She also told me that the experience was worth it...
but just pray I get a good job after college to pay for all of those student loans! lol
-roommate hunting!!!-
hmmm I wonder if the originator of this thread got in or not...
Thanks yall I appreciate your prayers and will do so for you as well. I'm going to stop worrying about it and just believe and trust God because he is the only way any of us will make it through on time. No more worries just faith!
Quick question, do you have to enroll in order to get your finacial aid packet from them or do they send it to all admitted students?
Is it true that Spelman receives the largest endowment out of the HBCU's and they are just being stingy with the money?

IDK, but I would never think that they were trying to be stingy.
