Well if your going to have to take out major loans anyway i would definitely say take them out for spelman. I called the financial aid department at spelman today and it seems like im going to howard. They said that their scholarships have been mailed and anyone getting a scholarship would have already received an email telling them so. And since i didnt i think im gonna go to howard. I love spelman but no school is worth the debt if i dont have to take it. Did they emntion anything about scholarships at Spelbound anyone??
Only thing they said about scholarships is that if someone decides to make the bad decision (Dr. Tatum said that lol) and turn down Spelman's offer for a scholarship and enrollment then it would be moved to the next qualified person.
She also said if you work hard the first two years at least
it is very possible to be put on a full-ride scholarship...
I'm taking my chances...
When I got home I told my mama that Harvard, Vanderbilt, Yale, and Princeton can all off me full-rides and Spelman not offer me a dime and I would still go to Spelman and take out a loan, because it is worth the experience...
so all in all....I FREAKING LOVED IT!!

the talent show turned into a huge party, and then when we got back to the dorm everybody was still hype so we brought out the boom boxes! lol

I was there at Spel-bound for the begininng. I was supposed to stay in Bessie Strong and the hostess I had was named Mandisa Bell. She was really cool and she made everything fun. The church service was really diverse. They had a mime ministry, African dancing and a great sermon. I was so upset when I had to leave. (Connecticut is sooo far) ~TEAR~ Anyways, I can't wait to start school. I also attending the freshman stepshow that friday and got a shoutout from a guy at morehouse....HEHE lol. I love Spelman College!

That kind of pisses me off cause they're not lettine people know before the enrollment deadline. I dont think i got a scholarship cause someone in finacial aid told me that scholarships notifications have already gone out through email. so if u got a scholarship you would have been notified already. i REALLy wanted to go to spelman so bad but i guess it just didnt work out

I have been looking into the outside scholarship thing but i cant commit to a school without being certain of where i stand. I thought i might have gotten money form them because i got into the honors program and got invited to join WiSTEM(wasnt a science or math major so i couldnt do it) but at this point i cant deal with it anymore the deadline is coming up really soon and my mom wont let me enroll to 2 schools...sigh... if i dont hear anything by this weekend im going to commit to howard on monday. Thanks for the support though
