Girrll, I get braids every chance I can. My friend does my micro braids. She has been braiding for 5 or 6 years now. she works in a salon but charges me $50 at home. Your best bet is to find a close friend you know who might be able to do it. I don't do much to them but put Kara **** in and wash them. I am used to them so it takes me 4 hours to take them out. You should also keep them tied up when you sleep, they stay longer. Remember the old saying "Beauty is pain" well if you want them ya gotta sit for a long time.

I mean if they are not professional they cant be charging u off the wall u know? .. The girl just SO HAPPENED to be my friend .. I paid 90 I think she charges a hundred for regular .. BUT .. I didnt let her do it just cuz we cool and shes my friend .. I let her do em cuz she knows what shes doin and her braidin skills are off the hook .. Everyone was askin me who did em .. I gave away so many of her cards its ridiculous .. She is really good .. I paid 20 dollars a pack for my hair (2 packs) plus the 90 she charged .. Which wasnt bad at all .. I dont agree with babyface and just goin to someone because they are cheap because sometimes u get what u pay for .. I just got lucky .. Ask to see some heads the lady has done or if u see someone with micros that u like ask them who did theirs

The lady who does my braids at home charges me $250 including hair. My friend at school put me on the friend discount and charges me $45 for box braids and $15 for cornrolls. I have to bring my own hair. Kanekalon is good, not that stuff they sell at WalMart, it'll cut a sistah. My braids look good for about a month and then my hair starts to come out. One of my friends said that my hair is too soft so it pops out of the braid. I get a nice lil halo of hair at the top of my braids. Any suggestions to keep it from doing this?

Braids are the best. I wear them most of the time in DC. The weather is so humid and I don't have a perm so I basically have no choice. If I want to look decent, braids are the way to go. Anyways, they make it easier for me. I don't have to wake up and worry about spending time on my hair. They do take awhile to take out, but grab a few of your friends, order some pizza and get it craccin.

If you do, this is considered not to be good because the hair slips out the braid. I tie my braids up everynight and they last me like 2 months.

Yup, I tied em down every night. I grease my scalp and spray my braids. It's like clockworks. My braids are still some what tight. I actually have to get the front of my braids redone like every 2-3 weeks to keep it from looking hella raggedy.

yea ive had micros 3times im getting them again when i start my freshman year. i had a professional african briad em an i kept them up by washing them and keeping them oiled. never pull them too tight the first few weeks and get your hair treated by your salon when you take them out. DONT KEEP THEM IN TOO LONG, ALWAYS WASH & **** THEM. they r really nice to have but they do take a very long time to put in, my last one took 10hrs cuz i had the acutal micro invisiable braids...whew! oh and they DID NOT break my hair off. i have very nice length off hair...tips -look better when the roots match your hair color so when new growth comes it doesnt look to bad -dont get em right after a fresh perm, they will slip easily. -tie them down whenever you sleep to prvent fuzziness!
