Is it me or is everyone trying to sport some nalia nowadays?
I've seen so many non greek groups with line jackets and shirts with whatever phi this or that. Groups like Naacp, hip hop dance groups even just random groups of friends.
I mean what is going on are people that eager for some type of identity?
I just wanted to know if others have seen this occuring around there way and what you think about it.
I think its fine for certain groups like bands and things but not just at random.
I have learned that before the 70's greek number were not what they are now. My mom went to Spellman and she said back then you could not pledge a sorrority on campus because attending the school put you in a sisterhood already. That was real. She is a Delta know but I think she appreciates be a Spellman grad more.b]
Its even deeper for Morehouse. Even since Morehouse's genesis the very nature of the school has been one that has been subtle yet intentionally fraternal. Somethings are instilled in the Men of Morehouse subconciously as the travel on that path to becoming Morehouse Men even down to the design of the architecture a design of the campus.
Anyway.... historically fraternities weren't welcome on our campus till about the 20s/30s when one of our Presidents were convinced they were ok by a good friend.
Now, they do thrive on this campus but ultimately just as those who greek are part of there various organization and we love and cherish our bond, most alumni of my school do so as well and are very much a part of this fraternity we call Morehouse.

Only us Neo's would be so hype as to post or even take pics of the inside of a line jacket...****...this kills me. Although this Neo stuff is beginning 2 wear off...atleast mine is.

Aw, no fair. I made that post back in July. I was fresh out the womb at that time, so of course u know i was a lil over-excited.
After i wore that thing one time, i got over it. To be honest, i can count on one hand how many times i've worn it since i've been in school. Most of the time I just wear it during community service events. Around campus i'm just tryna be me, not "that Zeta".

I deff feel u kenya! I use 2 wear Nalia every day...now I just wear it every now and then. (except 4 my umbrella cause thats the only 1 I have).
I remember over the summer when I was workin in Times Square and on my way to lunch I saw this car with a Kappa/ AKA license plate. Gurlllll I dont see alot of greeks in NYC so I ran in the middle of the street and threw up my pinkie. They looked at me like I was crazy and kept it moving...almost ran over my happy **** too!
Needless to say, I dont do that stuff any more
