Im coming from the north next year to go to school in Alabama and I wanna know what people think of students from the north is there a rivalry or a stereotype of some sort? Let me know so I can change my ways right now........... :o

WE dont refer to yall as aliens its just us as northeners act different from southeners. Me being from chicago I know how it feels to come from the city to down there inn the middle of know where. Trust me the people are much different from northeners.
Yall act like we aliens too. Neways just cause someone from up north doesnt like them south doesn't mean they downin the south. They just don't like it.
I like livin up north better, and no one can change my mind. Im want to raise my kids in the Chi. But bein down here is interesting, and its a change of pace, which is cool since it's temporary.

But I got to a northern school (Del State), so we really don't have that problem. And we don't look down on cats that come from the South.

Where up north? And it depends on what school you're goin to. I know most people I know who went to ASU or Alabama A&M (like four people) ended up comin home(C-H-I) after first semester, because they didn't like it.
My boyfriend goes to Grambling and he HATES IT. He is always fightin and stuff. He said its a lot of north vs. south stuff. Needless to say, he's transferring. But I think it's easier for females to transition than males.
It depends on your personality too.
I agree with Brett I am from Chicago as wel and I go to school @ Tuskegee in RURAL ALABAMA and some of my friends from Chicago that go here are leavin this semester cause they couldn't adjust or they just hated this school. But I kinda like it in a way. So it does depend on your personality. Just make sure you rep the North everywhere you go cause its required down here in BAMA.
