I saw some high-grade get up to 2.85 today. It's gotten so bad that the truck drivers are talking about going on strike!! This ****has got to stop. There are business execs and government officials who are getting stinkin' damn rich off of those of us who are going thru the pain and suffering.
Why are gas prices rising so much and often anyway?
Ok, I can answer this, but you gotta promise me you'll read it..... Think in terms of drug dealing. Let's say one dime-sack of weed costs about $8 this week, but there are a whole lot of "newcomer" weedheads across town. Since the main supply of Mary Jane is running low, AND the demand for it is higher, the prices will skyrocket. What is $8 this week may be $15 to $20 next week. Some dealers may even spike their prices up, depending on how "good" their weed is. Some may even do so even if their product isn't the best on the market...just so they can cash in!! In this case, the dealer is the Middle East/OPEC, and the customers are me and you, and everybody else. Two totally different scenerios, but same simple economics. What was $2.25/gallon at the first of August is now damn near $3.00/gallon. In short, this war, supply (low) vs. demand (VERY VERY HIGH), massive growth in China and other Asian countries, and greedy energy companies are the blame for the most recent spikes. Not to mention that this is the summer traveling season. A lot of Americans are loading up the kids in the oversized SUV to take trips to grandma's for summer vacation. Nobody really knows of why the sudden $0.20+ price spikes in the last 3 days...."Experts say" that this should level off around $3.00/gallon and finally start to drop off by Labor Day. The worlds **** supply has been steadily dropping for the past 30 years, and we're finally feeling the pain due to this. The news media (who are basically controlled by the government these days) is saying that it's because of the lack of sufficient **** refineries, and the massive assed population growth in Asia. BUT, this war has more to do with it than most people care to realize. War, bad economy, high gas prices (just wait until the Christmas season), and other newly-inflated products are all kinda tied into each other. The fact that most Americans are driving THE MOST inefficient vehicles doesn't help this not one bit. When you're in dispute with a country who you're dependent on for natural resources (in this case, FUEL/**** comes from the Middle East), they're more likely to make more of a profit off of your dependency. There are also energy companies here IN THE U.S. who are making big bank off of this. Do a google search for ExxonMobil, AND Halliburton (the Vice Presidents' company). Do a search for OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) for good measure. Guess what's the driving force behind your lights being powered on everyday? That's right...fuel. Fuel/Crude oils are needed for damn near any/everything related to electric power.
Whoa......good thing I didnt promise...I think he probably said something like, inflation and "because they can" though...
