what did yall think of the comments he made about **** Katrina? I personally agree If u wasnt there, here it is WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Rapper Kanye West surprised viewers of an NBC benefit concert for **** Katrina victims on Friday by accusing President George W. Bush of racism. ADVERTISEMENT
Quote:
" George Bush doesn't care about black people," West said from New York during the show aired live on the East Coast on NBC, MSNBC, **** and Pax, just before cameras cut away to comedian Chris Tucker. West, who is black, suggested moments earlier that delays in providing relief to survivors of the **** that hit the U.S. Gulf Coast on Monday and flooded New Orleans were deliberate. He said America was set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible." The Grammy award-winning singer, who was paired with comedian Mike Myers, also said in what NBC described as unscripted remarks, "We already realized a lot of the people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way, and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us." He was apparently referring to shoot-on-sight orders issued to National Guard troops to halt **** and **** in New Orleans. West also criticized the media's portrayal of blacks, saying: "I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're ****. See a white family, it says they're looking for food." In a statement, NBC, a unit of General Electric Co.,said, "Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks. "It would be most unfortunate," the statement continued, "if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person's opinion." The program, hosted by **** of NBC News, urged viewers to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. It included 18 presenters, and featured performances by New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis, as well as Louisiana native Tim McGraw and Faith Hill of Mississippi, which was also struck by

Since we want to talk about an "appropriate" time and place...when has it ever been appropriate for someone of another race (particularly a white one) to come onto a messageboard dominated by African Americans and call a Black man a "****"? U can call him ignorant all u want, that's your opinion. But don't preach about what is appropriate or politically correct and throw out racial slurs left and right. If that ain't the pot calling the kettle black (and yeah...the pun was intended). People got on u and started throwing out insults becuz u were intentionally looking for drama John. U knew u could have stated your point of view and a more intelligent manner, but u were purposely trying to rile folkz up. Mission accomplished. And it really isn't a matter of a race thing, becuz every culture has done this. Micheal Moore pretty much did the same thing when he won at the Academy Awards a few years back. I guess that would make him "another ignorant **** Black man" as well

secondly, if Republicans or Bush supporters decided not to donate becuz of what an entertainer said about their beloved leader, then their heart was not in the right place and they probably weren't going to donate it to begin with. This issue in the Gulf Coast is bigger than Bush. I'm a Christian, but even if someone got up there and said "Jesus is a loser", that wouldn't stop me from contributing.

There is always a wrong time. It's not a good time to throw a revolutionary movement during a military occupancy. It's not a good time to discredit someone, albeit true, at a national fundraiser.

Oh right, so I bludgeon someone on the internet left and right, they throw insults at me and no one cries about it? But the second I call someone a **** you all are up in arms. Funny ain't it? Change started the hostility, so shouldn't you be taking it out on him? Whoops, he's on your side, leave him alone.

You must not pay too much attention to anything I post, in order to make an assumption that I gave MM the OK in my book. MM is liberal pundit trash. Half of what he says is true, the other half are all weak **** assumptions. And there was MORE of an outcry against MM than against Kanye. So what's your point? I'm in the wrong for pure retaliation? Hmmph. Okay.
