you know i've never seen a light skinned Black girl with long hair
it was always weave
akatude is the stereotypical aka
only i'm not sure if that's her hair
but anyways
now anyone who is into reading should read some old book
that actually documented aka's and their color struck inutations
they WERE actually color struck and if you were not light enough
you didn't get in
i thought that was interesting because a myth came out to be TRUE
of course it's different NOW but to KNOW that your org WAS discriminatory like that has to make u feel bad
poor aka's
It is nice to hear that I appreciate your response! I did not mean forget our history I just hate to see people who know they are ignorant not learn and gloat in it but I WANT TO GO ON RECORD FOR SAYING IT FEELS GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU!
LET YOUR WISDOM SHINE SIGMA!!!
RESPECT AND LOVE FROM THE SOUTH!
TOODLES!!!
I type corrected then...
I understand what you are saying now about the history and people not knowing it yet chosing to revel in their ignornace.
Thanks sistah, I try to keep it progressive, we've got some real issues out here to confront.
Sisterly love back at cha' :smt109
Also, not everyone has contributed to this "light bright truth". Organizationally speaking Sigma has never contributed to this ridiculous notion of light somehow equaling better.
Yeah and all the dark skinned negroes used to hate on light skin negroes.
Perfectly justified! Bring the brown paper bag test back!
I know this is an old thread but I have to agree with you. ( I know this is controversial.) Some of the field negros have gotten in these orgs and have taken over. They hate on the house n*ggas. So I agree that the paper bag test should be brought back. There are too many AKA's running around looking like they have a false sense of beauty. There are too many AKA's that aren't looking how traditional AKA's should look. I'm sure the founders of AKA would roll in their graves if they would see the type or caliber of women that they are picking these days. They say the Southern Baton Rouge chapter of AKA and the dance girls squad are chosen by the paper bag test even to this day. They say the man in the past, who picked the girls for the dance team, said that he wasn't ever going to have a dark skin girl on his squad and that all the girls had to have long hair. The only girl that had short hair was extremely beautiful and looked like a model.
She's not lying..
Doc was very picky when he chose Southern University's Dancing dolls..
Everybody in Baton Rouge knows that...
and if you would see the Fall 08 line of the AKA's at southern you will see that
they all look very similar.
