this is a HUUUUGE topic
and yet,
there aren't many viewpoints given
i'm anxious 2 be converted from my stance
but yet,
my debate history tells me you can't accept a change in policy without an alternative (that was dumbed down of course cuz i'm tired as usual (i need 2 visit hbcu b4 i go 2 work one day))
so rather than discuss how despicable war is
i'd rather see
alternative options
how else could matters be taken care of?
how long would it take for us 2 reach an effective application of this option?
and what part as an individual do u find yourself taking 2 reach this "ideal"?
PREACH 2 ME...because i'm not completely gone (i used 2 be liberal) i just need some shape of a plan or some proof that there is an alternative and not just opposition without solvency
i think that the US being the bigger "person" would be one alternative to war. meaning, instead of feeling like you have to fight fire with fire, learn how to fight it with water or earth instead. (what that would be a symbol for, i'm not sure) and i don't think that means not doing anything, i think it means being proactive instead of reactive. insurgencies are no joke and i feel like if you back them into a corner, they're only going to fight more viciously. by continuing to give them a fight, you're buying into what they want. insurgencies weaken by forcing who they're fighting against to exhaust their resources. the US is on their turf, i don't think they're in control of the situation. and i'm not saying invite them over here and have war in the streets of NYC but i think it would be more efficient to lessen the fighting. i agree with neckbone in saying the time would be the same by now. if something's not being effective, repeating it at a more extreme level is not going to be very effective either.
