Stop that. You're reading into her comment too much. She was commenting on the general consensus as declared by the media and society. What she says is quite correct. I'm willing to gamble that if she does have an identity problem, it is not because of her skin tone. In addition, there ARE some girls that have identity problems because they are, in fact dark. Have you even been in the South?
THANK YOU... Somebody with sense...Most things that I say are usually a general observation of society as a whole...not specific situations...
But being a fair skinned female from Louisiana...I am the one that is ostracized, because people think that I think that I'm "too much." "Light , bright and almost white." But an identity problem is something that I don't have.
Being a proud Black female is something that I have no problem doing.
I"m really not this afrocentric dude who looks to only date black women ... but I just have a natural attraction to black women ... I find them more attractive.. and I'm able to relate to them easier...
To be honest, I've only dated one black guy in my life (the rest were white, hispanic, and asian). It was a great relationship, too~! But just because of the way I am, most Black people around where I'm from call me an "oreo" or "white girl" or other tish tosh like that. Sure, I'm not "full Black" but it's the biggest part of me--a part that can't be covered up by something like language or whatever. But they don't see that.
Sooooo it leaves me with a lot fewer options when it comes to dating inside my own race.
Intresting topic, but I have no problem with black men dating white women. Me and one one of my siblings have dated white people and my family has had no problem with it. But I guess it depends on how your raised if your okay with it or not.

I totally agree, however date the person for the right reasons. Don't exclusively go after someone because they are a particular race. The Media is the blame for certain opinions of beauty. All races are beautiful and if you only exclusively date only a particular race you may miss out one the one for you. It is 2008 look on the inside because what is on the outside will fade sooner or later. Also don't put all black women and men and other races in the same category. We are all raised differently and have different personal experiences. All BLACK women don't have attitudes and every white girl an't passive. My best friend is a white girl and she don't take no mess off NObody. Just my 2 cents.
