Hey I can relate to you some....campus life does get a little better during the fall because they tend to have more parties. But a lot of times you have to create your own fun. Of course coming from up North or from a big city it's going to be boring. I don't know from personal expericence but because my best friend happened to be from New York. I know it **** that you can't have a car your freshmen or sophmore year, but u can always work around that one. Try to befriend upper classmen so that you can get a ride to Norfolk, because the mall downtown is nice....there is three levels. Plus there is Va beach, Bush Garden's, and Kings Dominion which isn't too far....it's all about connections and finding means of transportation. During the regular school year especially in the fall there are football games and stuff. For some people after a while it kind of grows on you and then for some other people it just isn't for them.
The cafe food...*laughs* There isn't anything positive I can say about that..I know I avoided the cafe a many of days...
Yeah Pre-college was wack...so what? Its fun if you make it fun and you must not have been tryin to make it happen. I'm fron Jersey and Hampton is nothin like it, but I tried to make t fun and it was aight. I look at it this way: I'm at college to get my grades done first and have fun second. I love being a a student at DA REAL HU.
Hampton for life.

I just graduated from Hampton in May, and I'm from New York City too. I didn't go to pre-college, but student activities is under new management so that could be one reason it's not fun because I've heard in the past that pre-college was live. I personally didn't like it at first because as a city girl, I was used to city life and it took some real adjusting, but I did however, have an idea of what to expect. NYC is one of the few livest places in the US, you can't expect Virginia to be like that. At least wait until the first semester is over before you determine you don't like it. Yes people do hate on New Yorkers, but get over it. Stop focusing on the negative side of things. Get yourself some "big brothers" and "sisters" so that you can get a ride to other places, and when the year starts, join some organizations. I'm not going to lie, it took me all of the first semester to even start liking the place. Now, some of my best experiences in life, and some of my best friends are because I decided to stay at Hampton. Give it a chance, it really does get better as you progress, and if you still don't like it, maybe you should go to another school that has a city atmosphere. I hate to say this, but maybe uh...cough...Howard....cough...would be a good place for you. Lastly, if the females are so rude, maybe it's you. I doubt that that many females are being rude to you for no reason. Did you ever think about how you're coming at them?

Yea yea i feel you on that but ummmm....when i come at a female i come proper or i don't come. It wasnt only the females it was the males maybe im judgin but alot of people were frontin on their lifestyles and what they about. And to let you know ma i don't dwell on the negative but the negative is what i want to preach and holla and yell about..because face it people respond to the negatives more than the positives. be safe be good.
