with all due respect to rick james, his family and loved ones but are you kidding me? I know that HBCU central isnt gonna allow this to be one of the hottest post wit 7 pages of false condolences. This is the same site that 3 pages responded to the death of true legends Barry White and Ray Charles. Think about it would you all have even truely cared if Dave Chappelle didnt make a parody about him....
before everyone starts talkin blah blah blah, I have older cousins and aunts and uncles who were around during Rick James' time..So I knew about him WAY before Dave Chappelle made that skit...I thought the skit was even FUNNIER because he(Dave C.) did him so well...So YES I did know about him way before that skit THANKS ...comes to show it's when people are **** that's when everyone shows respect? EVERYONE was laughing their **** off when that skit premiered. So when R.Kelly's long and gone, that "**** on you" skit won't be funny anymore? Give me a break

I have to agree with ths one....I know I like Rick James back when I saw 'Friday' and they played 'Mary Jane' and I been liking him since then. Also 'SupaFreak' and 'Fire and Desire' is my songs too...........

I knew about Rick James long before the Chapelle Show because my dad raised me on the music that was out when he was growing up. So all condolescences are not false.
same here. before i knew who Dave Chappelle was i knew who Rick James was, and i am sad about his passing. he was eccentric before it was the thing to be and i always liked that about him.
