Keep Your Friends Close But Work Your Enemies Posted on 07-26-2006

Each day I am going to list one of Robert Green's 48 Laws Of Power. I'd like to hear your personal experiences related to THIS law where you were the one observing the law in action, utilizing the law or the one on the other end. Today let's look at: Law Two - NEVER PUT TOO MUCH TRUST IN FRIENDS, LEARN HOW TO USE ENEMIES Be wary of friends - they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

That makes alot of sense. Friends can many times overlook your strengths or even take them for granted, but enemies, foes, what have you generally remember that they can't get caught slipping around you so they stay on their game and maybe even show more respect for your abilities. just my opinion.....
