Im in the Marching Band at my School and we have rehearsal during the time that greeks plan their events, such as informationals. Should I attempt to go to an Organizational week if I can't be present on all days or wait till Spring when Marching season is over.
FINALLY A DIFFERENT KIND OF QUESTION!!
If you can be excused by your director, I'd say go check out the informationals. Just make sure you go to the correct one.
yay! A topic I can relate to...
I'm in the marching band as well and I know it can be hard trying to go to organizational events but trying not to get kicked out the band for doing it..lol For me, it was easier because the informational for my org. was in the spring but for you I would advise you to either ask your BD if you can be excused to go or if not, maybe try to get in contact with a member of that org. and ask what was discussed at the meeting if possible. If all else fails...you might just have to take the L and wait till the spring.
Hope that helps.... :-)
#-o My suggestion would be to wait until the Spring and concentrate on band for now, you'd appreciate it more. And if you don't already know for sure, you might want to ensure that there will be an organizational week in the Spring and not just once a year. I know not all campuses have Fall and Spring intake.
Get that GPA up! :geek:

My response is different from everyone elses.
Skip band, go to the Greek Week. Band is great, but if you get kicked out (which I highly doubt) you can always talk to the director and rejoin in the fall.
When it comes to Greek life at Howard, one would need to do as much as they can to seriously be considered for membership.
I say take the L and wait until the spring. If you really are interested in a particular org, then you'd make it do what it do and find a way to show your interest. I doubt that there is ANY band director that would let you attend.
I haven't been here in a while and as I can see a lot of yall haven't either.
My advice is to get to know the members and let them know that you are interested but you do have band practice but if it is a week of events let them know that you will skip at least 3 band practices in order to go to their week. I say 3 because if you have no time for the org as a prospect then chances are that you wont have time for it as a member also. So you must sacrifice something...the ball is in your court.

Basically young lady, you are going to have to skip band practice...
