No, unfortunately it's not a joke. So far over 30,000 Black (and others) people have joined. The site owner Tyrone, has stated that his goal is to turn the word "N!gga" into something positive for black people.

A common endearing term used by many black people is, "ni99a" not to be confused with a different and offensive term, "ni99er". The word, "ni99a" is in rap songs, daily conversations, on TV, etc. yet the word still has so much mixed emotions attached. One of my intentions is for this word to no longer have such mixed emotions. Part of my intention for this site is for the word ni99a to embody images of brotherhood, and fraternity rather than images of ignorance and hate.
How great would it be, if the mixed emotions that this word carries along with it, were stripped down to something more positive? Only positive.

What are your opinions about it? His defense is that it is used by black men and women in the media all the time(rap music specifically). Does that make it okay? Does that legitamize Ni99gaSpace.com? Is saying ni99ga in a verse, equally wrong?
I think it is very counterproductive to what we are trying to accomplish.We've just seen proof that because we are comfortable using certain language and phrases, others will use that as a license to do the same. And when they do, they will have a legitimate argument - "well Black people use it in slang - I was doing the same!"His attitude is that there acceptable uses of the n-word. Even if there are, those uses are usually misunderstood. So why would anyone want to promote it?

Yes my friend has a N***Aspace and my teacher does who loves the fact that there are so many white people on there. He's white. I despise the site and appreciate that people are actually trying to put a stop to that bull.

hell me and my cousin took down the **** website back in '98...........it was only down for a week, but it was down none the less
The people who join post all kinds of illegal things and **** as well.. I guess those are the members who classify themselves as "*****s" ..
the server is slow .. gotta be a ***** to have a cheap hosting site
other than that, i know of a few other sites that use that Template.. SWACFANS and another which hasn't released yet (hehe)
