MIDNIGHT
Today is the day that I change my life around (Verse 1) It is a new day of my life at midnight But these days that go by I’m hellbound Standing here under this streetlight On this empty street thinking of that day we met But that day seems so long ago in my mind Just as I saw that late night sunset I wondered why you were so unkind Then I knew what it was that I had to do (Chorus) I had to get you out of my life before dawn I stood for so long like a stupid statue So I thought I should mow the lawn These times that we had were good times Until the day you said you couldn’t do this anymore I thought we would last a lifetime It made me realize my love for you was unsure And I never saw my old life end at midnight Now that I have moved on I feel more awake (Verse 2) These old nights have become my past I remember the worst time of my life when I heard my heartbreak The heartache you left me with is outclassed I have become a new guy something you will not know We’ll meet again someday but I won’t remember anything But this heart of mine will still be hollow This pain will never return as long as I’m still drinking Then I knew what it was that I had to do (Chorus) I had to get you out of my life before dawn I stood for so long like a stupid statue So I thought I should mow the lawn These times that we had were good times Until the day you said you couldn’t do this anymore I thought we would last a lifetime It made me realize my love for you was unsure And I never saw my old life end at midnight
