Seen the movie. Then, I seen it again. Then, I seen it again. Then, I seen it again. Now I own it own it dvd. I'm just curious as to how the portrayal of a fraternity in Stomp is true to real life. I admit, the movie got me hype.
Not true lol...its a commercialized version of black college/greek life...made it look like you got served part 2...hell they barely stepped in the movie
Yeah, on behalf of myself, my family, and the state of New York, I'd like to apologize for starting this thread. My first thread in the Greek forum should not have been this. After doing some reading, I see how much you guys loathe how greek life was represented. I hope you guys dont put me in the idiot category. Once again, my bad. Thanks for the response Gray.
lol its cool homie... don't gotta apologize (even tho i'm sure there are some folk who would eat u up just because lol).
I ain't seen the movie so i can't really call it, but from what i've heard it doesn't scratch the surface of fraternal culture. Regardless, its still a beautiful thing. Better then what any movie can portray.
The movie to me was border line corny! Like the girl graytgurl mentioned, it is pretty much over rated. I also felt the movie had bad coloring. You can tell that there wasn't much money put into producing it. Yet, it did have an okay story line. All the popping locking dancing is not how the greek culture is, it is more about showcasing stepping.
It's "entertaining".
After all of the hoopla that went on before it came out I was disappointed in the outcome. I took it for what a movie is worth in it's basic form, entertainment. I enjoyed Drumline more, but I'm sure there are some members of KK Psi and Tau Beta Sigma...or band members in general, who didn't like that movie.
Either way, you won't ever know the real thing until you're in it. Depictions don't have all the facts.
