Tuskegee University Posted on 06-29-2007

Hey, I'm currently a student at Tuskegee University. I will actually be a senior in the fall. I'm just here to answer any questions that students considering Tuskegee or have decided to go to Tuskegee may have.

How do you like being there ? The surrounding area is SOoo depressing. What is there to do? Was it the first choice for most of the students or this is the school that accepted them ? The student union and cafeteria appeared well..maybe because I was there on a Saturday. Some people think if it was the last choice for most people, the level of competition might make it easier for anyone who tries a little bit and graduated from a good high school. I don't mean to offend you and your school, just going by observations and only knowing adults who went there back in the day. They are upset because Black Enterprise took it off the list of Best Black Colleges.

First, I love my school!! Yes, it may not be in a big city but we have our fun and most of all I feel that my school overall has a great reputation and a great history to back that up. Second, The one thing you need to realize is that no matter what school you go to and where that school is located you will NOT have a good college experience if you do not get involved and mingle. You determine if your college experience will be good or bad not the location of the school. Third, Tuskegee was in my top three choices. I honestly did not have a #1 school that I wanted to go to. I just wanted to get out of WI and go to an HBCU. However I do feel that for alot of students Tuskegee was their top choice. Tuskegee costs over 20,000 a year and is a private university, which means there is no in state tuition everybody pays the same amount. Especially due to the costs, this is not just some school u go to just because. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

You're from Wisconsin? I live right across the Illinois state line around Gurnee Mills and Six Flags. I've been to the Dells, played BBall in Madison, and have been to Milwaukee a few times. I've got to get my money somewhere in the next few days.People who go there seem to love it.
