Hey TSU, I hope we can connect. My research in mainly with the names: Vaughn, Arbuthnot, Trask and related individuals. The name of the area is Locus Hills in Fort Adams/Woodville area. The Arbuthnots are easy to trace but not the African American Vaughns or Trask. I have located my great-great grandparents as far back as 1870. If you are researching in the same area, I can help you. Give me the names you are researching. If I run across anything that can help you, I'll pass it on.

Thanks for the response. I am interested in Anderson and Vaughns. I have been interested in researching my family history for a few years. However, I am not sure about how to perform the research. My initial thought is to start with the library and join a genealogy society. What is your recommendation for performing genealogy research? I really appreciate your input. Thanks!

My maternal family are the Vaughns, Will C. Vaughn - Great-grandfather Wife- Susie Arbuthnot Vaughn Willis Vaughn - Great-grandfather wife - Margaret Vaughn Start your reseach with your parents (mother's maiden name) Location of birth when Then their parents The Church of Latter Day Saints have the best resources for African American history, the the State Archives. Your main library may have a good source for genealogy reseach. Our library here has an excellent section. I even went on an Underground Railroad Tour from Baton Rouge to Ohio, through Canada, and back down the east coast through New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia. It was great!

Thanks for the genealogy research advice. In the near future, I will start the research and see what I can learn about my family history. I really appreciate your time and help.
