Hey People, I'm the old man of the group and not here to pick people up but minds. I am an educator who is searching to help an ex-student financially. No, don't think wrong but right. Here's the story - My ex was born in the United States and moved back to Mexico. She came back to the states about her sophomore year in high school. Being out of the country for such a long period of time she had no way to practice her native tongue, English. She would like to become a math teacher but is having problems obviously with her language skills. Now when she moved back to the states she moved with uncle. From her discussions uncle is from the old country where the females do not do anythng but become barefoot pregnant mothers and wives. She is a bright young lady but things have not gone her way. Mother is living in Mexico and is somewhat depending on brother to help her out. Uncle is being controlling and does not want her to experience the college scene. Her and I had a discussion during the end of her senior year ('07) and stated that once she has spent time seeing mother she will find a place to live and attend college. The catch is that her living accomodation have disappeared since her friend has moved to New Mexico this past week. She DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE BACK INTO UNCLE's HOUSE. I signed on as an educator and this is one of the sites that I was sent to. Can I have the advise from the group of possible scholarships, grants or general aid for minorities. Would appreciate any help. The Sage
