With fans across the country choosing sides and pledging allegiance to their favorite artist, SOHH wants to know who you think will come out victorious in the September 11th SoundScan showdown between 50 Cent and Kanye West. With the release of two of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, Graduation and Curtis, mere days away, both combatants have been hitting the campaign trail Barack Obama-style in an effort to win over last minute undecided hip-hop fans. And though both albums found their way to the net earlier than expected, both Ye and 50 are still both aggressively trying to ensure that their respective albums come out on top when it's all said and done. Taking two different approaches to reach the masses, 50 has seemingly gone back to his guerilla marketing and promotion tactics, hitting the streets heavy in an effort to gain fans, specifically fellow New Yorkers as he announced a tour through NYC's five boroughs. He's also stirred up a great deal of controversy by dissing Interscope head honcho Jimmy Iovine and Lil' Wayne, and throwing lightweight jabs at Diddy and Jay-Z. Kanye, on the other hand, is focusing his attention on meeting music buyers at retail outlets, holding larger-than-life in-stores and listening parties as well as heavily promoting his record to those who frequent the internet when buying tunes. While those in the hip-hop community such as Twista and Fat Joe have been mainly neutral, fans voiced their opinions on who they felt was the front-runner in an early SOHH Survey. According to our original survey taken before either album leaked, when asked whose album will have the higher first-week sales, 51% of the respondents said Kanye, 37% said Fif, and 11% believed it was to close to call. Now that the music has hit the net, SOHH wants to know who you think will win and which album you'll be picking up on Election Day. Cast Your Vote Today. Graduation boasts guest spots from Mos Def, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, Daft Punk and DJ Premier; Curtis calls on Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Akon, and Eminem, as well as production from Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and others.[50 Cent breaks down his album, here] Kanye West Vs. 50 Cent, New Survey Asks Who Will Come Out On Top In Decision '07 | Daily Hip-Hop News | SOHH.com /
