 Okay, i talked to my roomate a few days ago, and i was kinda **** about what i heard. It seems like he is a bookworm, and he says he likes staying to himself in his room (our room). Man what am i pose to do??? he doesn't drink or smoke, not that its good but how am i gonna deal with it???
If anybody has had this happen to them, please give me some advice, i am completely lost, thanks in an advance.
Depending on your dorm there will be like 50+ other people around you who you have the option of making friends with. My advice is start early before cliques are formed...and make as many friends as possible (if that's your style) being that half of them you won't talk to sophomore year.
smh...So are you the lame roomate or is it him???
Sweetheart thats life...When you enter into college you will run across all kinds of people. You should have a little bit more tolerance for people who dont share the same interest as you.A matter of fact you should be happy to get a roomie who does not seem triflin'.
If thats what he does, that's him. That doesn't mean that you all can't be cool...give it a chance you haven't even met him yet. You'll make other friends in your dorm as well....
and its true just be glad you don't seem to have a triflin rommate...or ones thats gonna steal your stuff...or worse
Wait til' he gets to AggieLand, dat chit's gon' change reeeal quick if he's got any black in 'em...
But on the real you may have to do what my friends did to me. For most of my freshman year, I stayed cooped up in my room with my headphones one trying to aviod any and all people. Keep in mind that I'd never lived around any black folk in my entire life. But my friends, bless their little hearts, would come to my room and drag me out. I'd be in some lounge clothes chillin, doin homework, drinkin, playin video games, or sleepin. All the sudden there'd be this thuderous knock at the door (half of them are football players) I'd answer the door and they'd literally kidnap me.
"Come on nukka, you gon' out!""Naw, mayne, gon' somewhere wit' dat!""Negroe, put some clothes on and come on!""I don't have anything to wear out!""****, wear what you wore to class! Just come on!"
My roomate won't no damn help. He just sat there and laughed. I never had a bad time though. They made sure of it. They'd end up draggin me to a club, a bar, or a strip club or somethin of the like. Actually paid for my first lap dance, and a couple there after... :? I swear... I wanted to knock the hell outta them sometimes for bothering me while I was sleeping, but I'm not gotta hit a 6'2" linebacker or his twin bother. Or another linebacker... :? They made for some kick **** bodyguards though. 8)
Or just be honest with people...especially freshman year...be like my roommate is lame, can I kick it with yall? That's what I did they are my bestest buds to this day....even though their first impressions of me were terrible
So what are u saying??? u makin it seem like i am lame. i know how to deal with people, i been through basic and tech school with all kinds of people. i was just hoping me and him would be compatible so we can chill or do things together. i know i'll have plenty of people to chill with around campus but why not chill with my roommate??? but you are right, i am sure it'll be more peeps around the way. i'm in Aggie suites, so again, you're right

You got the easiest place to meet people bruh. Aggie Suites seriously has all kinds of people. They plan activities so that you can meet each other. There's normally people chillin in the lobbies talkin or playin spades. I can almost guarantee that you'll be tight with the people on your hall. I've been here since I got to A&T... I should know... Sadly I'll be giving this ol' place up for an apartment this year...
