i believe your academics and credentials should speak for you. so i see sending cookies, and gifts, and special fancy stationary as ploys to gain individuality by a sub-par student. basically, i hope all that extraness comes off as smoke and mirrors to admissions commitees because i don't wanna be part of a generation who makes it thru school by fancying up a pitiful application. especially that counselor who asked for sample ones! at that point the dern letter isn't even sincere anymore, therefore should be considered null & void
