TUSKEGEE -- During Tuskegee offensive tackle Anthony Driver's first two years, he wondered when he would get his conference championship.
With Tuskegee's winning tradition, Driver thought the titles would come naturally. But when the Golden Tigers came up short, he began to wonder if his championship time would come.
"It's definitely a good thing, especially after the first two years when we were a good team but we just came up short in those games against Albany State," Driver said. "It's kind of funny because now I'm getting my second championship and when I was first here, I was like, 'Man, when are we going to get our championship,' because it kept slipping away at the last minute every time."
Not the last two years.
Tuskegee won a share of the SIAC title last year and this year, won the championship outright. The Golden Tigers clinched their perfect conference season in dominating fashion -- beating Clark Atlanta 51-0.
