Morehouse College Posted on 11-18-2007
Average Joe

Hi, all I'm new to the forum. I'm posting because I have a few questions regrading the HBCU "Morehouse". Well, first off I'm going to tell you guys/gals flat out I'm only 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. I know I have a while before I start college but, its never to early to think about it. Questions: Does Morehouse have a pre-med program? If, no are Morehouse students allowed to join Spelmen pre-med program(sorry if I'm wrong about this. I thought they had one.) I know seems like everyone wants to become a doctor nowadays. But, I have good reasons why I want to be a doctor not because of the damn show "Grey's Anatomy" Does Morehouse have a good science department(physics, chemistry, biology etc. and everything else that would prepare well for the MCAT) Are Morehouse students allowed to take classes(like biology or calculus etc.) at Spelmen and receive full credit for the classes taken? Whats Morehouse College acceptance rate into medical school? What about into some of the prestigious medical schools? Can you do a double major in bio/chem? Would pre-med students recommend that? Do the essay questions(on the undergraduate application) change? (I've already started answering a few ) Or, should I check out Xavier since its ranked #1 for sending African Americans into medical school? Anything else you guys think I should know about Morehouse -Thanks
