Um...ok. I'm a sophmore in high school and I'm most definitely not the perfect student. My freshman year my GPA was a .68 ...(Yeah, please don't clown...I already feel bad enough about it) with no extra curricular activities, and no AP classes. I was too busy having fun, that I didn't think about what the results would be and how I would have to pay for it later.
But this year I'm really trying hard ... My GPA is a 3.1 and I'm in Choir.
My first choice of college is Howard University, but I'm scared I've already ruined my chances..
Fortunately, I do VERY well on standardized testing. (Perfect scores on the ITBS's and ITED's in almost every section) So do you guys think I'll get in if I get a perfect score on the ACT/SAT, join a few more clubs, and try to get my GPA up to a 3.5 for the rest of this year and the rest of my High School career?
I want to major in Psychology and minor French.
Please reply to this I need answers ASAP. I need to know if I have a chance so I can start bustin' my **** in school now. Because if I don't have a chance...I'm skippin' school on Monday to go to the Mall with my girls.
...I'm new to this site, by the way...!! Hi everybody!
You are a sophomore, I would not stress about it for now...you are on the right track though...have fun in high school, it only comes once! College needs to be on your mind, but not to the point that it consumes your thoughts! It shouldn't really be a major concern until next fall, when you are taking the PSAT. You sound like you will be in good shape, getting in should be no problem...but you do wanna have high grades and great test scores if you want good scholarships! Just continue to work hard in school, join clubs that you are actually INTERESTED IN (not because they'll look good on the apps) and just have fun!

****..u r too funny gurl...and as for advice I think you're doin pretty good... lots of people have a hard time adjusting to high school so a not so hot freshman year isn't the end of the world...the important thing is that you're turning it around and colleges LUV to see that...CONGRATS on the turn around....I def think you have a good chance of making it in if you keep ur grades up but you MUST join some clubs( to show that you're well rounded) and take a few AP classes...good luck

Welcome to the site! Getting into HU is very doable, if you keep up your gpa and do well on SAT or ACT. If an admissions counselor sees that you have the maturity to turn things around, it will work in your favor. As others have said, it's probably good to get involved in some extracurriculars and start thinking about teachers who can give you a good recommendation. Other than that, start getting ready for DC. Good luck!
