Foundation to Raise Funds for 11*HBCUs - Chronicle.com December 20, 2007 Chronicle of Higher Education Foundation to Raise Funds for 11 HBCUs The Tom Joyner Foundation announced that it will raise money in 2008 for 11 historically black colleges and universities. Tom Joyner, a nationally syndicated radio personality, will promote each institution as the “School of the Month” during his morning show. No fund-raising goal has been announced, but the foundation has raised $55-million for students at historically black colleges and universities. The institutions this year are: Florida A&M University, Elizabeth City University, South Carolina State University, Albany State University, Rust College, St. Augustine College, Coppin State University, Meharry Medical College, Hampton University, and Morehouse College.
