Atlanta rapper Yung Joc was arrested early Sunday morning (Dec. 23) on gun charges while trying to catch a flight out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
According to local Ohio news outlet, NewsNet5.com, Joc (born Jasiel Robinson) was arrested shortly before 7 a.m. at a security checkpoint. Authorities claim to have found a loaded semiautomatic weapon in his carry on luggage. Joc was formally charged today with carrying a concealed weapon and may face more serious federal charges per the Air Piracy Act.
In a previous interview with SOHH, Joc warned rappers that he is licensed to carry a gun and that those interested in stealing his chain better be careful of his skills with the weapon.
"I'mma let you know I was thinking 'bout going into the military," Joc told SOHH. "I wanted to be a ****. I grew up with b.b. guns and sh-t like that. I got crazy aim, so I would hate for someone to run up on me and get his a-s touched, cuz I'm licensed to carry and yes I do carry." [Watch video below]
Earlier this year Forbes magazine listed Joc as the 20th wealthiest hip-hop artists, saying he earned an estimated $10 million in 2006.
