You cant get a permit in california at the age of 14....
Thats a big joke.
Im 16 I already have a car,
I have already driven [[Im mighty good at it]],
but still cant get a permit w/o taking a class,
and then taking the written test,
and driving test.
[[some of those things can be excluded, but overall still the fact of the matter is you have to do all of that]]
Oh and before you can even attepmt all of that you have to be atleast 15 1/2 [[down to the day]].
But that wasnt the point of this post,
so I'm going to get to it.
I'm not stating whether I agree or disagree,
but the reason the law doesnt allow younger teens to decide for themselves on the topic at hand, is simply the facts of the brain.
They follow the factual points made by neurologists that although the brain is larger and most teens know how to make the logical decision between right and wrong, at this age our brains still arent fully developed, and when my know the consequences, and risks for making certain decisions, but we do not fully understand it to the extent.
Even if we say we do, they say we dont, because factually our brains are still growing and blah blah blah...
So... yeah I guess...
In the State of North Carolina, you can be 18 and still have a 16 year old boyfriend/girlfriend. Matter of factly, if you're no more than three years the minor's senior, then you're okay. Hence I completely stand my my state's statutory **** laws.
In the COMMONWEALTH of Va. the age of consent is 17....
I know 17 year olds who have 2 kids, a full time job, established credit, an apartment and a grandchild on the way...
