The Launch of Velocity Magazine
Newswire Today - /newswire/ - Los Angeles, CA, United States, 7/03/2008 Velocity Magazine, by “V” Publications, is set to hit newsstands at the end of September. Velocity will feature scintillating up-coming talent in the fields of modeling, acting, sports, music and design.
Geared toward males and females, the magazine will also feature up-coming casting worldwide. “We have started this magazine to help up-and-coming talent get their names out, but also as a resource for casting directors so they are available with the best talent,” states Janessa Webb, CEO of “V” Publications. “We are determined to change the stereotype that you have to live in a Big Name City to be successful in the entertainment business. We have been lucky to live in the city of opportunity; however, I’m pretty sure there’s a little girl or boy out there who we aren’t seeing, just because they don’t live in a “so called” entertainment environment.”
Webb, who founded “V” Publications, and Velocity Magazine, has named another CEO, Meghan Cyr, to be her “right hand woman”. “I have a team behind me, but Meghan is a well established model/business woman who I trust to run our company and this magazine. Also, I’m still continuously working on my career, so having me give direction by phone always works better.” They wanted to start a magazine with this concept, because as working models they get a lot of upcoming people picking there brains for upcoming events, casting, and just what they have done to be successful in the business. “My current advice would be to follow your dreams. If you want it you must go get it and you defiantly have to be able to take rejection!! Rejection is a source of learning and being able to keep going after rejection will only make you stronger as individual, states CEO Meghan Cyr.
Velocity will showcase independent and underground artist, and upcoming talent in all aspects of the entertainment business, but will also have an impressive number of entertainment royalties to grace its pages. Cyr realized that there needed to be a market for aspiring entertainers worldwide, and not just in one particular state. There so many mediocre things in life, but your dream shouldn’t be one of them, so “go get it” know matter where you live, Webb states.
In addition, Velocity will launch its full website next week to access subscriptions, information, updates or to contact them directly at (direct) 323-459-9672. Sep/Oct. issue will launch the end of September online. Please keep your eye open for updates.
