Historically black colleges and universities have contributed to American history by giving back to the community and planning events that show how we like to express ourselves such as Black History programs and parades. We have a very unique culture that is like no other such as our music, lifestyles, and the way we dress. HBCUs are relevant today because they can be very informational if a person would just listen and not talk at all. We can hear about things that happened years ago and use that information to our advantage to change the future. We need these colleges and universities so high school students can apply the colleges and universities to keep up with their black heritage so they will not forget where they come from.We can learn how successful black people in the real world and not be afraid to stand up for what we believe in. We can also learn how to get along with our fellow African Americans since we are all brothers and sister in God’s eyes.
