Just wondering what the genral opinion is when you see a girl who is Hispanic, White, Asian or whatever on your campus?
Any hostility? Or just another one of the girls?
i think of 'em as another girl. most of my friends are multicultural and few of my friends are actually like me, african-american, so hostility is practically non-existent in regards to ethnicity.
They are just another girl, their heritage is diff but that is beautiful. People are people, I love to experiance other cultures, but we really need to stop paying attention to peoples' race, IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!

I soo agree! I just was told by ignorant people that if I went to an HBCU almost all the girls would look down on me because I'm Hispanic and think i'm only there for the men and thats not the case at all
Ugh girl just ignore them becasue those are the people who are going no where in life. And besides if they have time to do so they really aren't going anywhere bc they are there for school not to try and run non blacks out of there. I love men of all races and everyone else has the right to do so. I know that is not why you are going but honey bun if you want some chocolate by all means go and get you some because lord knows I love latin men lol. Where are you going?

HBCUs are open to all races. I dont think any HBCU is 100% black. You will definitely see other races on campus, especailly Hispanics. Its all love. Best wishes with everything!

Haha thanks! Lol I do love my dark chocolate and i'm perfectly happy with my man so i'm not trying to lose him anytime by running around the campus looking for more men than I can handle lol
I'm looking at Jackson State, Albany State, Texas Southern, and Alabama State.
I'm not planning on Transfering for a little while more but I just want to get as much information on them as I can and their Track and XC programs also.
It's hard being a Latina in California trying to find out info on HBCUs. Luckily my best friend at my previous University (I left to go to a JC) was from Lithonia (sp?) so she would always talk about the AUC, Divine 9, and HBCUs in general. So I'm just trying to get all the info I can

Thanks! Yeah, I heard HBCUs were created not only for blacks but also for helping the Native Americans. I think just cuz I'm from So. Cal there's a lot of tension b/w Blacks and Hispanics and ppl here think like it's like that everywhere
