Hello,I hope this letter finds you all in good health and spirits. My name is Larry Antoine Peterman. In June 2008, I became a proud alumnus of Plainfield High School located in Plainfield, New Jersey. Currently, I am a freshman Communications major at Johnson C. Smith University which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Recently, I have been faced with the dilemma of maintaining my student status at my University because of financial difficulty. My Circumstance: I am writing this letter with a clouded mind hoping you can understand what I am going through. As some of my dearest friends, family & extended family members and others are aware of, my parents are not doing well financially, and this has affected my ability to continue with paying for school. Lately, my University’s administration informed me that I have to abandon my tenure as a 1st year student at Johnson C. Smith because of my parents’ inability to further fund my education. My parents presently owe a debt towards my tuition fees. Luckily, my University’s administration will allow me to take all of my final exams for this fall 2008 semester; nevertheless, they informed me that I have to be off campus immediately after I complete these academic tasks. Consequently, my worry lies in the fact that I am not certain at this moment if I will be returning for the spring 2009 semester to complete my freshman year. Thus far, I have been penalized by not be allowed to register for my upcoming spring 2009 semester. To complicate matters, because of the steady economic state of affairs the country is in, (for months) my parents nor I have been able to acquire a student loan from any of the traditional financial institutions who typically assists families in need. They simply are not risking lending to people strapped for income. My Plea for Help:As a result, I am asking if anyone can give something, anything as a charitable donation to assist me in continuing with my University education. If you would like to call it a loan, I will promise in writing to pay you back. I assure you that I will keep impeccable records of each donation in order to repay you for your help. I will also keep you all abreast of my grades if that is something that would be interests to you as I progress through my University towards my degree/graduation objective.I know some of you are wondering how I will pay my tuition for the spring 2009 semester if I cannot pay the debt for this one. Well, I will be enlisting in the Army ROTC in order to continue my education. This is not something that I want to do but, my education is just that important to me. I came to JCSU with the intention of success and I have achieved this success. I have learned the importance of education and have worked very hard this past semester. More importantly, I came to JCSU because of my Learning Disability diagnoses. JCSU has been a great fit for me because the University specializes in assisting learning disabled students like me with support services that helps make up the great fabric that is the University. At this time, I have A’s and B’s in all of my classes. I am very proud of this actuality. This is because before graduating from Plainfield High School I did well but not as well as I am doing at Johnson C. Smith. My parents are also proud. But they are very hurt and ashamed that they cannot help me the way they would like. My Financial Need: The amount I will need for me to continue is $3899.24 -- and I need to raise this amount by January 12, 2009 for late registration. I should be able to validate/register until that date.As of January 6, 2009, I am at 29% of my goal. I have received donations in the amount of $1,125.00. I know that this is a large sum -- but every little bit helps -- and will get me closer to reaching my degree goal. I know that it is the holiday season, and this is on my wish list. To continue with my education is all I want for Christmas! Please help me finish my education with any donation you could offer. My time is of essence. If you would like to be a part of aiding me to my pathway to success please email me back ASAP… and I will provide you with the information on how you can donate money. the truth,
This is not a scam if you go to my site you will see I have provided all documentation that this is not a scam. Why dont you check it out rather than be so negative. You can call the school. My GPA and credits are posted. See thats the problem with us we do not like to assist another person in need. I am a freshman at Johnson C. Smith University. Check it out. I am unable to return to school because I am having a financial hardship. I thought that my brothers and sisters on this website might be willing to assist me. So, before you jump to conclusions investigate!!!!!!!!!!!
Investigate?? Dude, please...If you are so broke then go to a university back home in Jersey and pay in-state cost. If you cant afford that, go to a 2-year college until your money gets right.
So umm, one more time....SCAM!!!!
First of all please do not refer to me as dude. Second of all I do not live in NJ any longer but, I guess since did not you thoroughly read the email you would not no this. Now, as I appreciate your responses, this is not a scam. This is the last time I will dignify your ignorance. Do not respond if you do not like the email. There are others out there who unlike you understand my plight. I am not the only student trying to stay in school. People have been considerate enough to donate and if like I said earlier you had read my web site you would see that also. I am not bothering you having my post here so, please leave me alone and get a life. Now, if you continue to harass me I will report you. I am not trying to pull a scam here, I am sincere about my education and do not appreciate you trying to slander my name.
I do not know why you are on this site you do not even attend an hbcu. Your status says you are a junior and if this is untrue then change your status. You tell me that you stay home until you get your money right, if I had know the economy was going to be so bad perhaps I would have not started but, since Ms. Cleo and I are not friends anymore I did not know.
