The Manifest Your Destiny House Program
The Manifest Your Destiny Foundation is looking to provide hope and growth to the teens of New Orleans through education. We are looking to provide a safe place for teens to socialize and learn all while living GREEN! The opportunity also will teach the community about service and help grow as a community. But the project and MYD Foundation needs our help. The house will be open 7 days a week and during school holidays to ensure that students will always have a place to learn, grow and socialize safely and receive hot meals that may be scarce at home while parents work. Students will also be learning how to live & work green while bringing those ideals to their neighborhoods. Tutoring, workshops, gardening, field trips, internship/job placement are all apart of the curriculum overseen by counselors and certified teachers to ensure that the MYD House Program students will be ready to make their next steps. The facility & surrounding property will be completely green, house up to 150 students, plus volunteers, staff & administrators per day.
The Pepsi Refresh Project is giving away funding to help ideas like this and all you have to do is vote, daily. It is easy enough as placing a page on your Facebook page, blog or twitter and casting your vote for this program.
