true, she can yell for days...but when you really wanna blow is all about being able to stay in tone and really feel what you singing. Both are excellent performers, but i'm still down with Celine.
I'm sorry but I totally agree with Rapture. Mariah has gone commercial now a days. But if you listen to the old Mariah, girl held it down! And holding notes forever? Listen to one of her old albums, especially the song, "Can't Live". Mariah can out sing Celine Dion anyday because she has so many vocal assets that celine dione doesn't have some of which are:
#1. She can sing in all kind of octaves and ranges. If you ever heard Mariah use her extremely high singing voice, you would think it was unreal!
#2. She has very good vibrato which is important in singing black music!
And like I said she can hold her notes, you have to listen to her old albums when she didn't have much and she was really tryna sell records!
what about "can't Live" "Make It Happen" "I Still Believe" "I don't Wanna Cry" "Can't Let Go" and so many others.
These are classics in which Mariah's voice has blown Celine Dion's away.
