The current headlong rush to make student debt forgivable does nothing to encourage prudent borrowing and discourage tuition increases...Making some loans dischargeable in bankruptcy would send better signals.  http://www.insidehighered.com/views/2012/12/07/encourage-bankruptcy-not-forgiveness-student-loans-essay
