New York, NY—March 25, 2016-- The New
York Metropolitan Chapter of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association
is currently accepting applications for the 2016-2017 Scholarship Award.
The
scholarship is open to Norfolk State University undergraduate students who are
enrolled full time and are residents of the New York Metropolitan area
(residing within a 100 mile radius of New York City including New Jersey and
Connecticut). Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of
2.5 and have completed one semester (12 credits). Applicants will be asked to
complete an application and write an essay (of at least 300 words, but not to
exceed 500 words) stating their career goals and why they chose to attend
Norfolk State University.
The application process is open now through March 31, 2016. The award
recipient(s) will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee and will be
announced April 30, 2016. The student
will receive $2,000 towards their tuition.

NEW YORK METROPOLITAN CHAPTER OF NORFOLK STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The New York Metropolitan Chapter of Norfolk State University Alumni
Association was re-chartered in December 1983. Since 1985 the chapter has
contributed to the awarding of scholarships for students in the New York
Metropolitan area. The NY Metro Chapter has spearheaded many projects over the
years including donating computers to the School of Business and showing
representation at college fairs to recruit prospective students.
